very long durability

I love these strings because they hold good sound very long time. Tone is smooth and good for slap.

Sounds like new after more than one year.

I don't play bass very often, but it always sits next to me when I make music; a fast check of a bass line I write, a quick line recording... etc.

I ordered these strings because I was familiar with the quality of the Ernie Ball guitar strings. The bass strings didn't disappoint; clear sound, consistent response in all registers, consistent tuning, and after more than a year of having them on my bass, they still have that "new strings" open sound.

By far my favorite strings!

I have a Musicman Stingray 5 and it came with Ernie Ball strings. I just love the clarity and the punch they give to the tone! They sound phenomenal!

Great strings

Use them for some basic funk, both fingerstyle as well as slap. These strings have a nice and bright sound, but with deep bass in the low registers. They are used on a bass with active electronics, however even without an amp they sound just great!

Great strings

It is the second time I am putting these on my bass.

Seems that this strings combine some good characteristics. They are bright enough but carry a good low end too. The most important part for me is the playability as they are soft enough to help some fast playing and bending techniques, but the still keep a firm position at the same time. Another good point is that the keep a good sound for a really long time. Been beating them a lot in rehearsals and on stage and they seem to handle the use nicely. You may lose the brighter side earlier than a set of steels but it feels that the punch that these strings carry till the end of their life is enough to compensate.

Will probably be coming back to these next time around too.

All-round amazing strings

Great value for the money. The strings are comfortable to play and have a clear and bright tone. They seem to be very durable and also seem to preserve the tone for much longer than other strings at the same price.

A classic!

I've been using these for 20 years now and they never disappoint! Perfect for clean out of the box sounds or for those more heavy sounds. Well balanced and constant from one pack to another, never had a bad patch.

Regular well balanced Strings

I bought these strings for my Ibanez RD650 bass guitar, wich has quite an harmonic sound, so i was searching for matching strings.

These bass strings do nocht have too much highs but quite a good low-end. Exactly what i was searching for.

So these strings sound a little unspectaculary but for classical rock perfect.

I normally change my strings every two month, using non-coated steel strings. These strings lost their sound after a shorter time, so you have to change them more often, but the price is quite low, so this is not the problem.

For heavy music i would recommend other strings, like darrio pro steels, which do have a lot more highs und a stronger punch.

I like these strings, but i changed my gear to reach a different sound, so i stopped using them.

Real good choice for Musicman Basses

I have tested different strings on my Musicman Reflex, but no strings bring the original sound over as good as the Ernie Balls. The strings have a pleasant tension and are not too rough.

Lovely strings, smooth to the touch, with a clear and bright tone, that lasts well compared to other strings I have tried, even with continuous use.

Best strings I've ever used.

Tone lasts much longer than any strings out there. Used on Bongo, MM5er and 4er.
