Great bass drum head

Fantastic and durable head. Well suited for hard rock and metal playing.

A Powerhouse for your Kick drum!

I switched from using Remo Powerstroke 4's to the EMAD 2 and now I use them on all my kick drums.

These heads give a full bodied punch to the tone of the kick drum, with plenty of attack, mic'd up - your kick will sound incredible!

The included muffling rings let you get rid of those old bed sheets and pillows to give you just enough sustain for that big roomy kick sound or a nice tight punch.

Pair this with an Evans EQ patch and thank me later! Keep the tuning loose and give a boost to your EQ at around 50-60Hz, turn up your subwoofers and give the crowd the beat through their chest.

Absolutely love this kick head

Best kick heads in the business

Been playing these for years, along with the EC2's for the rest of the kit. With a bit of tuning/damping/beater adjustment, I've yet to find anything the EMAD2 can't do.

From clicky techdeath doublekick to downtempo ballads on session work, I only need one model of kick head. Typically I only replace them when there's too much irremovable adhesive from click-patches that get shredded by wooden beaters in metal playing, I haven't ever actually broken an EMAD with a protective patch.

That's saying something, because before switching to these I was frequently putting my beaters through kickdrum heads (either single-ply or other brands.)

Perfect drumhead for a heavy hitting sound

I've been using this drum head for about half a year and it sounds pretty nice. The advantage is that you can use different damping rings. When I'm playing with rock songs, I personally like to use only the smaller damper ring.

Versatile Head

I really love this bass drumhead because of it's ability to adapt to differents styles of music. If you like to Rock you will get te punch and sustain you need and if you want to (let's say) Funk you are able to tighten this head in a way you wil get a funky attack out of it (especially if you combine it with the proper drum pedal and muffle inside the drum).

Overall I would say great value for money! And it's a strong head on itself, so very durable. As a professional player I would pick this bass drumhead over and over again.

Hope this review helps!

Muffled and clear bass sound

This is my 7th bass drum and certainly the best I ever had! I would recommend this bass to starters and pros. Great price - quality balance.

especially stable against hard bass pedal kicks.

Boom Boom

Does exactly what it says in the tin. However I find that on the particular drum I fitted virgin bass drum with no port that it does require additional damping. For this reason I removed a star.

AMAZING

Wow! it makes the bass drum sound punchy very very easily!

It feels good to play, the head is pretty thick and you can really dig into it!
