Doepfer A-125

Over the years I've used a lot of pedal phasers and I have never got just the sound that I wanted or the control that I wanted. This module fulfilled my dreams! When I first slotted this into my system I spent ages with one hand on the shift control manually changing the effect! I now frequently use joystick or theremin as performance control of the phase shift. Every other phaser I ever had had low frequency modulation and all that you could adjust was the speed and depth. Now I can precisely control the effect to peak at a crescendo in the music. But then there is more... using other voltages to control the shift. My favourite is sample and hold but I also like using an envelope to control it. And of course you can use an LFO but the beauty being you can achieve a huge range of speed...
Doepfer A-137-2 VC Wave Multiplier II
Based on 3 reviews
Despite the obvious use - creating the impression of beating waveforms, supersaw-like phases cancellations whilst generating an oscillator signal of a single stable determined pitch - the a137-2 can be used for lots more. It has quite advanced waveshaping powers, the modulation cv inputs can take up to audio rate modulations and give crazy results. I've even managed to patch it up as a shuffling clock multiplier/trig delay for getting shuffly snare rhythms. All in, a far deeper module than the fake-supersaw reputation it has.
