Beauty
Upgraded to this from a sub 1000 eur fender amp. My god, what a difference. This sounds so beautiful, clear and clean. Ive even removed my pedal board because this sounds so darn good on its own with my Gibson Es-335. Match made in heaven. If you have a smaller room and live in an apartment i highly recommend getting an attenuator as this runs quite loud. Even at a volume 3, my apartment rumbles and I have acoustic treatment too. Highly recommended if you have the money to splurge!
Great Fender sound
I guess handwired is the way to go, but this gets the job done as well and with a little tube rolling and maybe speaker change this does sound wonderful!
super versatile
Skip all the pedals, and plug in. feel the magic.
This thing sounds rich, and for anyone not thrashing/tapping/screaming, this thing will pull off everything you throw at it. Neighbours will also be well aware of its arrival. There is more punch than any home needs, and is ideal for any mic'd stage.
The vibrato channel is annoyingly noisy/clicky unless the vibrato is off, but that is somewhat expected given that this amp-and-circuit design is not supposed to behave like a modern piece of kit. The reverb is delicious, and is often rich-enough at 3-4.
The 'normal' channel seems to play nicely with pedal-fx such as overdrive, wah, etc. just run 'treble' and 'bass' at 6-7, sometimes there is too much high-end. At low volumes of 1-2, it sounds sweet.
My reverb pedals tend to fall shy of this spring-reverb, which is re-assuring given the terms 'deluxe' and 'reverb' in the product name.
Now waiting for the neighbours to take a long-holiday so I can run the valves warmer....
great amp!
one the best amps ever. it does country, blues, jazz, rock, funk... anything but metal basically. absolutely gorgeous clean sound. good reverb and tremolo.
pros: great sound, feel, look,
cons: no direct out, no fx loop. but that's because it;s a 60s Reissue. so i'm cool with that.
kickass amp
clean and sparkling. i play it in my living room and manage to get great clean tone at low volumes. i never push it, not even live, because i mic my amps.
the sound is very scooped. this means it's just better. but live you should use other devices to push through with your mids.
the cleans are so defined and clear, it's an ambient machine.
its heavy but portable.
and its so pretty.
Fender should do more.
I bought this DRRi on december of 2018 , the amp it's fair light (19kg) , well assembled . The clean is ok , chimey or bassy according to the Eq. used , the tremolo channel it's nice but reverb is too much after 2-3 of value , it takes od pedals really bad because of the jensen speaker and the bright cap that make them sound harsh and fizzy , very bad for people who use distortion and od pedals . if you leave the tremolo knob turned , you could hear a "bop" noise in the normal channel , depend about the rate of the tremolo on the vibrato channel .
For an 1400 euro made in usa single channel amp I expect more usability and less quality issues.
One of the most iconic amps of all time
Incredible amp and extremely versatile. I mainly use this amp with a Gibson ES-335 and a Gibson SG 61 Reissue. Great classic rock tones, takes pedals very well and I hooked up an attentuator to play at lower levels at home.
You can't go wrong with this amp.
Fender 65 Deluxe Reverb
Excellent amp, chimey Fender cleans with plenty of headroom.
Good and heavy, tonally, literally
Its a good small gigging and recording amp but it needs attenuatior for bedroom level. Vibrato channel comes from heaven but it hasn't got optoisolator likes US version; because of the EU restrictions it has a board that controls tremolo effect, same tube driven but you may optimize for low-noise tremolo popping with a technician.
Great Clean sound, hard to break up at low volumes
A classic sparkling sound. Great for recording if you have the chance to push it over 5 (which is VERY loud!). The normal channel reacts quite well with pedals (not as easily as with a marshall, some tweaking is necessary) the bright channel is magical for crisp, detailed clean sounds. A keeper.
