Fender ABY Footswitch Reviews
Works well
My brother uses as his primary switch between 2 amps.
Works as intended. No problems at all.
good
so fat so good. I was looking for a basic A B Y switch pedal to connect a flute and bass to a multi effect board and switch from one to the other. It's sturdy basic and not too big. I don' t know if others brand are as good and sturdy but you can' t go wrong with fender.
Great Switch
I need to switch guitars on stage regularly. To switch guitars without the constant plugging and unplugging, the footswitch is great to do that seamlessly and smoothly.
The great thing about this device is that it is heavy duty and feels indestructible. Shit happens during performances, especially if you play in rowdy bars. You may never know what type of emotions you might coax out of your audience.
The cons is that both A and B lights are blue. There will be venues where it is dark as hell. So I might not be able to see which button I am stepping on.
I have not used it to switch the outputs but I'd imagine that it would be similar to what I have done.
Overall a great handy product to have. At that low price range, it is unbeatable! The hard metal casing certainly makes it feel twice as expensive.
Solid equipment
I bought this to run two amplifiers at the same time and I was aiming to buy something that was cost effective. The first thing that I noticed about this footswitch was the weight, it's a sturdy pedal. The input sockets are solids and the switches do not feel like they are flimsy.
It works without a 9v battery, which only serves to power the LEDs. I'll be setting it and leaving it, so I am not at all bothered.
I'd be happy to gig with this and I have no concerns about the rigours of playing shows or travelling. This is a very well made item for the price.
Noisy on acoustic guitar
Works fine as an A/B device, but created noise with my acoustic on my Vox amp. Maybe not compatible with acoustic Fishman pic up.
Does exactly as specified.
The footswitch does exactly as advertised,
it is small, sturdy and lightweight.
The fender ABY Footswitch doesn't need batteries to function; just to power the LED lights.
Well worth the money!
Cool and useful
I use this pedal to split the signal of my guitar into two different channels. Works well. Do the best. Built like a tank. Allows you work in several modes: A and A+B, A or B, B and A+B. So I believe this is the best value for this money you just can't find better offer definitely.
I'm happy with my Fender ABY pedal =)
No complain here, cheap and usefull
Had to go from my baritone toward both a bass and guitar amp, this does the job with no problem. Not the less noisy option, it's a very simple design, but had no phasing or very loud hum problem with this one.
it just works as expected.
What else to add?
ABY Switch
I bought this unit in order to switch between two amps; The unit is well made and sturdy/robust and has two LEDs to identify which amp is in use or both, I would recomend this unit as value for money as well as a usful addition to your rig.
Fender ABY
Simple, rugged and inexpensive pedal: it allows you to connect two guitar to one amp or one guitar to two amps.
I use it to send my guitar signal to both a Kemper and Fractal AX8.
Very tranpsarent and low noise.
I use it live to connect both my Les Paul and Strat to my rig, so that i don't have to pull out guitar cable everytime i switch guitars.
Does what it should!
Bought this so I could run my guitar through two amps at the same time and it works perfectly! no need for a battery either although having the option to put one in for the indicator LEDs is always nice! It's built pretty well and can take a beating too! It's also extremely affordable!
Fender quality
I love this ABY switch!
I bought it so switch between 2 delay pedals (or running them simmultaniously in parallel) and then plugging their outs to a summer/splitter.
It's quiet, it has bright LED, built to last, looks great and the price is right.
Lool no further for your switching needs.
Solid value unit
My main board has a Morley Tripler on it,bought this to give a two-output option for a smaller board and its perfect for the job....solid folded steel box, decent bright LED indicators, switches and jacks seem solid and I see no effect at all from splitting the signal, both outputs identical
Like the Morley the footswitches are widely separated, more than is needed by the presumably simple wiring but its a good practical feature in terms of operating the unit and it still doesn't take over your board.
Practical, well built and straightforward . ......a great little unit for the price!
Does the job
Does exactly what it is supposed to do, good value for money
Simple yet effective
Ì use this to run either my electric guitar or my Arturia Microbrute into my guitar amp. It's simple enough; will allow for switching between 2 instruments into one amp or switch one instrument between 2 amps. It is sturdy and doesn't make any noise or seem to affect the signal quality
Fender a/b box
Very robust pedal compact size to fit most pedalboard.
But this
I was looking for an ABY pedal for a little while. I play in a band and wanted to be able to switch between 2 instruments without unplugging any cables and creating any unpleasant noises from unplugging live instruments. After looking at many (more expensive) pedals I settled on this one. The reasons are: you can use it to switch between 2 instruments to 1 output or you can use it to route 1 instrument to 2 outputs (very handy), the lights and layout make it very easy to see which channel is selected (not all of them are like this), it is made of metals and is very very sturdy and you can give it a good old 'stomp' when using it and the battery only powers the lights so if this runs out it can still be used.
My only negative point was that it is red,.. But I rally this have been quite handy as it's easy to see it quickly and stomp it when mixed in with all the other pedals.
Great price al
great little pedal
Was exactly what I was looking for. Volume doesn't decrease when audio is split which was problem I had with a cheaper one. Great job fender. Works without a battery which is a big plus.
Excellent!
What a great, no nonsense piece of kit. I'm delighted. It does exactly what it's supposed to do and requires no annoying power unit. I installed a battery to run the LEDs but the footswitch works perfectly well without, so even when the battery runs out, it still works, just without the indicators. I'm using it to switch my condenser instrument mic between channels on the desk, giving me a perfect volume boost for solos. As a saxophonist I was sick of blowing solos at backing volume, when the guitarist and keyboards could play their solos at boosted volume. The Fender footswitch passes phantom power to my clip-on mic and my solos are now out front where they belong. A simple, elegant solution, to a, age-old problem. Perfect.
