I bought this guitar from the first batch, that still included instruments with the wrong sized tremolo arm that wouldn't fit in the vibrato and an incorrect smaller pre-CBS headstock which apparently is not period correct, as this guitar emulates a 1966 Jazzmaster, that had a larger headstock.
You've all heard quality control horror stories and I was very worried that my guitar could be affected. It turned out fine though. There were some tiny tool marks on the fretboard but I never would have noticed them had I not read about these QC problems in advance.
The guitar was set up okay out of the box. It intonated well to my ears, and was holding the tuning exceptionally well. I did take it to a luthier and he had adjusted the pickup height and something else, which made it sound and play even better.
I love my lake placid blue JM, and it feels very special.
