Focusrite Scarlett 8i6 3rd Gen Reviews
Very good but..
The product is amazing in all aspects, it is very powerful, no need to add on that, but it is not suitable for high impedance Headphone, I have two 250 ohms beyerdynamic 770 and 990, the headphones out sound coming from the Focusrite is very weak and not enough for high impedance Headphone, I have bought the Focusrite after reading in their website that with 8i6 model if the device was connected to power it will be suitable to operate 600 ohms headphones, and this information is not precise. They should have mentioned that you will be able to hear sound from your high impedance headphones, but the sound may not be enough for your liking. or you will get 10% of the required power to operate your high impedance headphones.
Anyway, for my 32 ohms AudioTechnics it is working fine, and it is working seamlessly with my KRK Rokite 8 Monitors, the main output is very powerful, 30% of it blows my studio apart.
Reliable Audio Interface
I use it with my Kemper Profiler with the S/PDIF connection. Great audio interface, not problems with the software and it does the job well. It has everything I need for recording digitally. It has coxials S/PDIF outputs/inputs which is becomes rarer now that most are going the optical way. I haven't found any cons with it, very good audio interface for a decently cheap price.
Great Interface
Love this focusrite interface. Been using it as my main interface for bringing in and out audio for my streaming setups for the past couple of months.
Super easy to use and the build quality is excellent. The software is also very easy to use.
Would highly recommend it!
Great product, easy setup, great software bundle
solid piece of gear. straightforward setup, you can begin recording in no time. Great support and product knowledge base.
Ham radio interface
This is my second interface from Focusrite.
Used as the main shack audio interface for Software Defined Radio and classic rig.
Pros:
Good immunity to RF.
Cons:
none
A different class
I have moved from Apogee Duet Firewire (which was the easiest to use but Apple killed it) to M-Audio M-Track which had good sound quality to Focusrite just because I have a Roland V-Drum kit and an Octopad and I have other instruments to plug in. This is a game changer. Especially being able to use SPDIF in for the drum kit saved two inputs. The control software is a bit complex, took me half an hour to figure it out and still have problems when I am doing live video to Facebook that I can't get the sound in. But it is very versite with ability to create custom mixes from all inputs. Two headphone outs is also useful; now my Behringer HA400 headphone amp is not very needed.
This Is What I Needed Very Long Time Ago!
8i6 Scarlett lets me connect all my instruments, mic and speakers all at one time. This is something I was looking forward for a long time. Amazing quality, friendly software and unnoticeable latency.
