Fredenstein Artistic Mic Pre Plus

Great little pre.

Purchased with the idea of sampling Fredenstein gear. It sits in a Radial Cube with a SSL six and Cranborne Camden.

I've liked it enough to call it a keeper.

It's Great

I think it's a big advantage that you can insert it by changing the op-amp. The op-amp interior also has a fairly high quality and transparent sound. If you turn the color knob, Harmonics is added and it protrudes a little more.

Surprisingly good!

I first used this pre-amp on vocals with an NTK Tube mic and wow! With a small amount of gain and a small amount of the colour introduced it sounded like it was going through a very high end desk. It gave depth and a very silky smooth top end.

Nice preamp above its price category.

A Nice sounding preamp that you can alter its sound with the dedicated harmonics knob.

Quality Mic Pre with Colour

Very happy with my purchase, so far used it on Bass & Vocals, there is a massive amount of level up to +65 dB and a great range of features to cover Dynamic mics, Condensers & Ribbons.

It gives weight to Bass and a warmth to vocals when using the Colour control.

There is a 20dB Attenuator to allow line level signals to pass through the preamp and a low impedance switch which covers 1.5k to 300 ohms, the Di Input offers Balanced or unbalanced input with an input impedance of greater than 2M ohms, its a supper value Pre Amp for the money really loving it !
