Furman AC-210 A E Power Conditioner 5-stars Reviews
Great for our band
I've screwed this unit to a 1U rack shelf, and it goes in our mixer flightcase. One of the outputs drives everything inside the case, and the other goes to a power distributor to power all other musical equipment.
We get a good clean sound at gigs, and it's peace of mind for when there's a generator or dirty electrics. We switched to using power conditioners after the agricultural nature of some generators at wedding gigs left half of our PA in need of repair. This is our second Furman - the first still being fine, but we were downsizing our equipment from a rolling mixer flightcase with outboard FX to a 3U flightcase with wireless digital mixer.
It's not going to solve problems if you're not getting enough juice - I can recall a gig where the catering staff were on the same small generator as us and drawing too much, but it's going to protect you if that generator stalls.
From my point of view it was ideal, since all controls are on the front. Some others had reset buttons on the rear - all good until you need them in a hurry.
It is rack height, so putting it onto a shelf slightly raises the profile, and means that you need to be a bit creative if racking it up. It's a shame they don't do a rack option, but the provided mounting options mean you can secure it down easily.
In short, we run the PA and instruments through this for a live gig (no lights), and it's the hub of our power distribution. It hasn't let us down yet. Our old Furman has a voltage indicator. This does not, but in the real world it makes no difference (we still need to plug in and play).
protection
if you need to protect you equipment from spikes over voltage and other electrical noise this is the equipment u need.
Protect your equipment
It's a solidly built, relatively small and lightweight device designed to regulate voltage. I used it to protect my guitar amplifier and effects pedals from voltage spikes. I also noticed a slight reduction in background noise compared to plugging the equipment straight into the wall outlet. I guess it all depends on how much the voltage deviates from the norm in your apartment and how well shielded your cables are. It's a very expensive piece of equipment but, in my opinion, worth investing into if you value your gear. It's a much better option than taking apart your equipment and replacing blown fuses or even worse - repairing burnt circuit boards!
Perfect conditioner for pedal board
Small enough to fit on a pedal board. With two power outlets can run G-System and eventide powerfactor with no problems.
