GHS Hawaiian Lap Steel Set E

Warm sound !

Holds tuning well.

Barely adequate for acoustic, some strings looked filthy.

I got this set for an old acoustic Hawaiian lap steel guitar from the 1930s. The packaging promised "good acoustic tone" but I don't think anyone would mistake these strings for acoustic strings. They are really more suitable for electric guitars in my opinion. The acoustic tone is extremely bright and quite thin.

Some of the strings also have filthy discolorations. They came in sealed, individual plastic bags so must have left the factory that way. I don't expect strings to be polished to a shine but these ones didn't look very nice. They looked old and dirty.

They are okay I guess and probably much better on an electric.

Good quality strings

As expected from this brand. Tonebar slides easily and sound is a rich one.
