Gibson J-45 Studio Rosewood RB
Acoustic Guitar with Pickup

âclear buyâ and âno regretâ instrument
Gibson Acoustics are just one step above all others. They represent a class of their own, playing in a whole other league than other instrument manufacturers. The product proudly represents the brand that we all love.
Although the purists would appreciate this guitar as a lesser J45 due to the woods used (rosewood back and sides) and due to the thinner construction compared to a traditional, full bodied J45 with the classic mahogany back and sides and spruce top, the instrument is not a bit lesser than any other cherished Gibson product. It is unsafe to compare it to something that it is not and to something that a traditional J45 could never be.
The instrument came as expected, in perfect condition from every point of view. Feels, looks, plays and sounds extraordinary, both unplugged and amplified, of course with the natural tone limits of an onboard pickup system.
I did change the Grover machine heads to the Gibson Deluxe vintage tulip machine heads, but that is just a personal addiction, none the less (the Grovers are just fine and unbeatable in reliability, but too flashy and sparkling for me).
Overall, a ”clear buy” and ”no regret” instrument, perfect out of the box until the rock and roll starts to show on the factory finish. Then you can call the guitar yours and become a total addict of it, as a lifetime companion.
