Gibson Les Paul tribute stb
The guitar is amazing as well as the sound and build quality!! The delivery was very good!!
Great Les Paul!
It serves as the entry point for Gibson les pauls and it serves this role perfectly. It sounds great, plays great, but lacks some features that would probably be expected at this price point from other companies. It came with a perfect set up and it was ready to play. Its not worth it, spending double for a standart just for the funcier looks (binding, flamed top). All in all, it's a great instrument.
Lp
So I wanted a LP I could modify so bought this one. New pups (montys)and new wiring (mojotone) and its my favourite lp. Sounds amazing. Needs a neck and fret job, its chambered, so not so heavy.
Great purchase
Always wanted a Gibson Les Paul.
Looks great. Plays great.
Good price. Great service.
Only con: a little heavy compared to my Strat.
Highly recommended.
Gibson is back...nope.
I have send back 2 of these, both were amazing guitars but had some fairly major issues and should have never passed QC:
Gibson is among my favorite brands, the sounds, feel, history. Even the smell of fresh nitro is great but maybe invest a bit more in your workforce and not rush these out of the gate!
First guitar I recieved had multiple finishing issues, an incorrect cut nut and a difference in height between the fretboard and neck. The stain was sloppy, blochy and was clearly a rush job. There was even a big smear on the back under the finish.
And what's the point of natural binding if you put so much stain over it that it is barely discenable from the mahogany underneath?
The 2nd guitar I got was a bit better but had two knots in the back that were bleeding red into the nitro... Curious to see what that will look like a few years down the road from now.
The stain on the neck was blochy, uneven and spilled over the edge at the headstock. This could have been cleaned up easily but nope, let's just clearcoat over it...
Whats funny is that this one will probably also end op being sold as a b-stock instead of being send back to big G overseas. Buyer beware, the big corps don't really care!
I will try my luck at some local stores now. Peace!
Stunning guitar
This is my first Gibson Les Paul so I can't compare to any other models.
However, what I can say is that this is a beautifully crafted guitar. The satin finish feels great and the neck is very playable (although not as wide as Fender jumbo frets). The electrics however aren't up to the same quality as the guitar itself as the selector switch was initially crackly and has some play in it. The tone and volume pots also aren't as smooth as I would have liked (when compared to my Fender Tele). Although weight-relieved it still feels substantial and is slightly heavier than a strat or tele. On the other hand, the creamy and rich LP tones are unmistakeable.
The gig bag is luxurious and a nice addition - I'm not a gigging musician and so not bothered by the lack of a hard case.
All in all, as an entry level MIA Les Paul, this is an extremely well made instrument.
