Bergerault MAD Metalophone Alto

Chose the Bergerault MAD alto metalophone and the Bergerault XAD alto xylophone, as a pair, for enjoyment and discovery of music with the grandchildren. Very pleased with the tuning and sound of the bars and boxes, and with the comfortable 40mm-wide bars. The damper feature on this metalophone makes it more versatile by allowing it to play shorter notes like the xylophone, as well as the more usual use as the harmony instrument in the pair.

This is more or less a must have to complete the set if you bought the standard model with all white keys. This is just as good and the two together makes this a serious instrument. Quality is great and pitch is perfect. It's a bit tricky to properly mic up for live sessions but it can be done. It sounds great with acoustic guitar or for playing short melodies.

This is a great thing to have in order to fill your demos with interesting sounds. It sounds wonderful with acoustic guitar. It's also good for playing little melody parts. The only downside is that you have to buy the extra set of sharp tones in order to be able to play anything you like. Other than that it sounds good and mine is very accurate when it comes to pitch. I have even used this in live settings with great result, a bit tricky to mic up properly in order to cover the entire length of the instrument but the result was very rewarding.
