Purpose of this snare drum is being the second on my setup. But man; this is my main snare now. Build quality amazing, looking perfect with "black wax" finish. And the mag throw-off is perfect. Such a perfect quality product with amazing price. Pros: - amazing tone for 12" (even medium tuning) - gorgeous looking plus matching almost every color or finish - DW mag throw-off - stock heads are very durable - amazingly sensitive Cons: - don't liked the snares, they feel cheap - not comfortable with low tuning

the new “Warbird” is an optimized version of the original Black Panther model, with a unique 12″ diameter and a Walnut/Maple hybrid shell. This updated version still has a sharp and aggressive attack, with an amazing bite and projection (rarely heard a wood snare having this amount of projection compared to metal snares, it perfectly complements my Pearl Matt Halpern Brass snare in terms of projection). The new staggered lug design adds an enormously wide tuning range and the Puresound snares gives unparalleled sensitivity, with a dark, punchy and explosive sound. On top of it all, it has the Trick snare throw-off with 3 positions, which operates smooth as butter (my all-time favorite throw-off). The Evans heads are the icing on the cake and nicely enhance the tone...

I've only just received this drum and upon opening the box I was exited to behold such a good looking instrument. On choosing it from the website I was only looking at price so when I discovered that it looks really nice as well as being affordable a smile came upon my face. The sound quality is excellent for my needs giving a military sound which is ideal for my very English folk style music utilising paradiddle techniques quite heavily. The drum comes with a lovely tuning key which I was not expecting, so that was another bonus. My Pearl FCP-1250 Snare Drum BK arrived perfectly tuned and ready to play. I am very happy with my new snare drum.
