Modern day Gretsch

I've always liked Gretsch products (with a few exceptions) over the years so I was eager to see how my new kit would compare. I need not have worried because it is fine apart from some annoyances. These are, the relative slackness of the bass drum hoops when fully assembled and tensioned and the sloppiness of the tom mounting system. I want to mention also the very obvious joints of the wraps, quite ugly..

Sound wise the kit is certainly good when carefully tuned, in fact the toms were well dialled in straight out of the box. I'd make the same choice again.
