The classic Gretsch sound
Sound: I bought this for the Gretsch sound and it does really deliver. Bright and sparkly with clarity and definition. Works really nice clean with delay and reverb. I do not play punk or metal myself so cannot really comment on how it delivers there. It sound good both plugged in and acoustically. The bridge pickup does sound quite weak but the neck pickup sound excellent and both in combination works really well.
Playability: The body is very large but it sits very comfortably. The short scale feels nice and the fretjob is great. No problem with string buzzing on mine.
Finish: The paintjob is the weakest point with this guitar. On my model there where some slightly visible marks from sanding. Not enough for me to return it but still not what I really expected in this price range. Also, the gold-coating on the hardware seems to wear of after a while. Otherwise it feels really durable and the quality of the wood and construction is good.
Overall: A great guitar with a good sound at a good price. I've had mine for over a year now and it is still rocking.
