The budget and quality are in perfect balance. To achieve perfection it is necessary to purchase the "Duesenberg Multibender" Replacement bridge for ST-style guitars. This can be purchased here Duesenberg Multibender.

See how it works on YouTube. You don't even have to drill additional holes.

Nice entry level lap steel

Nicely built lap steel. Does not have any issues with hardware or electronics.

Pickups is a bit dark, but can sound good for more gritty, blues tone.

I do not have too much experience with lap steel, but Gretsch is definitely fun to play.

Lap Steel Gretsch

I have to admit to returning this item not because it was a bad lap steel but that it didn't suit my taste or need. That having been said its a very well made lap tell and worth the money.

Very nice instrument

This instrument is laid out very similarly to an electric guitar. Single input jack, a tone pot and a volume pot etc. All of the hardware is good quality, very solid and durable materials. I've used it a lot and the hardware hasn't tarnished much at all.

It's design allows you to play with the back of the instrument resting on your lap in a seated position, so you look down at the fretboard as you play. If you want to play and stand, you'll need to put the instrument on a keyboard stand as it doesn't have a way to attach a strap to it. Open tunings work best on this instrument.

The quality of sound is good, it has a warm, bassy tone and is very clear so every note rings out nicely. You need to play with a sound bar or bottleneck slide, so it has a very distinct sound. Playing with a volume pedal and some reverb and/or echo is a must for that real "country" sound.

The overall build quality is very good. It is a solid instrument and is put together very well. A great buy.
