Perfect!

I love everything about this!

Very good for a beginner

I bought this out of curiosity just to see how it would sound. I was pleasantly surprised by its general performance, especially for an instrument that cost less than the price of a beer. For a beginner or someone who just wants a 'try out' instrument it is perfect. The sound is good and it is responsive enough to allow a beginner to learn basic technique.

Edited review as F harmonica has a fault

Original review: Great build, sound and well packaged. I'm no expert with this instrument but I'm delighted

Edit: I am editing this review as after just a few uses of the harmonica, it feels like it has seized up at around 5 to 8. There is hardly a sound from it. I have other keys of the same harmonica (D and G) and they are fine, just the F is problematic. I have seen another similar review regarding the F.

When it was working it sounded lovely and the D and G versions do still.

I came back to replace my rating because i had try only the G key of this harmonica and it was very good for its price. But in key of F is very very bad. It is almost not working. I have to blow or drow with a huge machine at the holes from 6 to 10 to take a sound. Only the 2-3-4-5 holew and only in blow give a good sounnd. I opened it and i tryed to fix it but it didn't work. I opened olso the good harp of G key to take a look of the reeds and i noticed that the reeds of the two harmonicas are from a different metal material. I think that with all harley benton products maybe you are lucky and maybe you are unlucky. There might be a chance to buy a new harley benton harp in key of F and will be good, but i won't try. I don;t like to spent my money in luck. Sorry for my bad english.

Totaly value for money

Value for money instrument with decent sound. Ideal for a player who wants to have a wide variety of scales in his hands price-wise.

Harp easy

This one is for some blues in C. Less than a Marine Band, but also true.

The best budget harp.

I play a lot of sessions, & do a lot of live work. I use these harps as an everyday instrument, playing both blues cross harp, or as a first position instrument. I sometimes play guitar & bass with these harps on a rack; as this type of use involves more spit than subtlety, I have worn out my more expensive Lee Oskar models, which I now use for session or solo work only. These harps are the budget fall back. Loud, with soul, well made, they compare extremely well with classic expensive brands. I spent time & money on other budget brands until finding these, which are a cracking standby, & have been fairly rugged & well made for the abuse I give them. I would recommend these for use as above as a cracking day to day harp, & would offer an encouraging quality in sound to the beginner too. My recommended choice of budget harmonica. Excellent value for money.

Harley Benton harmonica review

I buy these all the time, they're very good value for money. Yes, they're cheap, and yes, you should carry a spare of the ones you use the most, as they'll eventually give up, but they're basically in tune and do last a while, and at the price you can afford to have extras.
