Harley Benton CLF-100E

A bluesy HB CLF-100E parlor guitar

The workmanship of the guitar is excellent. There are no negative points to mention anywhere. The top nut and bridge nut are made of bone. The fingerboard and bridge are made of beautifully flamed laurel. The guitar has a bluesy sound with a clear high and a pronounced midrange. The solid Sitka spruce top has a beautiful abalone rosette and produces a defined, full sound with a lot of gain in the direction of the listener through the 8.5 cm sound hole.

Despite the smaller dimensions typical of a parlor guitar, it feels very mature.

All this is supported by a built-in preamplifier with 3-band EQ, volume, tuner and phase switch which reproduces a true-to-life sound (no nasal sound).

The headstock with abalone branding and HB insignia is perfectly mounted on the pleasant-to-the-touch Nyatoh neck with short scale.

Conclusion: The guitar is definitely recommended to play real blues.

Holy cow, I love this guitar!

This is my 2nd Harley Benton guitar. After I got an HB 35plus a couple of weeks ago, I was so impressed that I picked up this little acoustic. The fit and finish are great. The fret ends are very well dressed with no sharp frets. The action out of the box was spot on, and I love the tone. The built in tuner is good, and the guitar holds tune well. Tuning machines are smooth and functional. The electronics are decent. Sounds a little tinny through my electric guitar amp, but I don't have an acoustic amp to try it with (yet). Shipping was 4 working days to mid US. For the price, both this and my HB 35 plus are fantastic instruments. If you have been on the fence about Harley Benton you should give them a try. This little guitar easily competes with similar acoustics I've tried at my local music store for 3 times the price. Now I just need to get one of their tele style guitars...
