Harley Benton CLP-15E Flame Koa Exotic

Excellent guitar

I was a little bit uneasy because on a guitar with a fixed bridge like this you can't adjust intonation etc., but the setup was good. The guitar that I received also looks even better than the one in the pictures and it is very well made, no defects whatsoever. The Fishman preamp is also very good.

Very nice

I won't get into to much story details, but this is my first Harley Benton. I do have other great brands to compare to, and my opinion is that for this price it sounds amazing, and has an interesting bluesy sound from the Koa parlor style. Love the extra width on the neck. Set up is right on, in a nutshell it's hard to put down. Comparable to very top known brands, very well built. I will be looking forward to putting expensive strings on to see how the sound and feel changes, the strings put on aren't what I'm used to.

Beautiful and nice-sounding parlor guitar

I have it for almost 3 months now.

The only issue there is in my guitar is that the 4-6 strings somehow influence each other's tuning: when you tune the 6th string, the 5th string goes a bit sharp, and vice versa. Anyway, it is not so noticeable and can be dealt with. That's why I gave only 4 stars for quality.

Other than that, I cannot find any issue with this guitar. No sharp fret edges, frets are decently polished. No glue residue, the upper nut is cut well has no sharp edges. It stays in tune well - I have been keeping it in a gigbag for about a week, and it was still in tune when I started playing it again.

The sound is pleasant for my liking, quite bright, although it lacks bass frequencies, but I guess it is expected on the guitar of this size.

And it is just a beautiful instrument, nice wood grain.

What I also would like to see on it is an upper strap button - there is just one of them. That's why I gave only 4 stars for features.
