This guitar is looks really good and above all, sounds really nice too. You can compare this to a 1000 pound PRS or Gibson and you probably get the same quality and sound. the flame top looks amazing and you can really see the grain. I love the push pull tone knob, which gives you a wide range of tone. the alnico V humbuckers provide clear sound along with a really heavy full mahogany body for a darker sound. The bridge is really comfortable.

I have had this guitar for a month and only tuned it twice, it has really good tuning stability.

The tiny bad thing about it is there were some mistakes on the finish and the binding, and the input jack is really loose.

For this value, this is the best you will get.

I'm in Paradise

As this guitar is my first electric one, maybe I'm not entirely objective, but at the same time I can provide good information for people like me.

I was a bit skeptic at start, but reviews gave me confidence that I'm getting good instrument for reasonable price.

Combining CST-24 with Peavey interface and software on PC is a big joy. I'm using it mostly with distortion and overdrive (rock music). Also playing on amplifier gives me satisfaction (more then to other family members).

Guitar is gorgeous looking, plays well and gives me no rest.

Great Value For The Money

I've had this for two months before reviewing it, in order to write an accurate review of it.

I have used it in a band situation and at home, also in studio. The guitar has no problems tuning, the only part that deserves a modification is the bridge, cause you can't set the intonation properly, due to the type. The guitar is very clear and articulate, the pickups are very good for rock, blues, clean playing, but I'll have them replaced due to personal preference later on (the factory ones are great nevertheless!).

The finish is very very very good, it has just one very small misalignment on the body binding, but you'll see it only if you hold the guitar and examine it. The action came pretty high for my tastes, therefore I had to play with the bridge a bit. It holds its tuning better than my $600 Jackson KVX guitar when switching from inside to outside (in case of live playing). If you want to get this guitar to professional levels, I advise a bridge and tuners change (bridge with dedicated intonation control per string).

All in all, if you are looking for a great body with great sound, or maybe a modding platform, or maybe a cheaper Reed Smith but without compromising much of the quality, this guitar is for you. I recommend the tremolo version, though, because of the lower action on the higher frets.

One more thing worth noting - this guitar really delivers. I was skeptical of the other reviews at first, but I've convinced myself after having it in my possession for a month and a bit - my friend who tried it said it plays better than his Gibson SG Custom (price well over $2000), so this guitar, with a bit of caress and attention, will deliver great quality and for this price it's a bargain. I'm surprised on the fact that not as many people as it should be are buying and using them. I'd love custom options on Harley Benton guitars (like a custom shop).

Don't hesitate buying, if you don't like it (which I doubt), you have warranty and 30-days to return it.

Amazing value

Amazing value comes to mind to describe this guitar. Not the best in the world but a lot more than I would expect at this price point.

Use

It feels great to play. Nice neck profile and easy to play high up the neck thanks to the double cutaway design. The action is high but the intonation is perfect right out of the box, at least on my guitar. The pickups are decent and on the hot and bright side. They sound good with heavy distortion. I would have preferred a mellower sound but that?s personal preference. I?m also not a huge fan of the chromed knobs but again, personal preference. The finish is very impressive and the binding looks nice.

pros

Price. Mahogany body and neck. Shielded and grounded pots cavity. Good pickups. Nice finish. Nut seems to be of good quality. Intonation perfect right out of the box. Nice new set of strings.

cons

Ugly fretboard (I would have gladly paid 20 pounds extra for a nicer fretboard). Frets not leveled. High action. I have a visible chip in the veneer maple top, under the clear coat.

Worth mentioning

Not necessarily cons but worth mentioning that unlike the Grovers, that you have to spin several times for half of tone adjustments, small adjustments on these tuners translate to significant tonal changes. I prefer not having to keep spinning the tuners when tuning but they might be less precise. Also, both the bridge piece and the tuners seem to be coated with a chrome layer. I might be wrong but that?s how they look to me. It?s worth noting how well they hold up in time. The pots are tiny.

Harley Benton CTS 24

The overall finish is acceptable for what is a low budget guitar.

Good quality tuners, bridge and humbuckers give reliable tuning and a good clear tone.

The guitar supplied out of the box was set up with a high string height and a pronounced neck relief to compensate for a very poor action. The reason for the poor set up was down to frets being at different heights and a low quality nut.

Ideal budget guitar for people who like playing with a high string height or parts.

Not recommended 16-10-15.

Good quality

I own two Harley Benton guitars, this and a ST-70 ROSEWOOD DELUXE. I love both of them, but this one is my favorite.

It looks and sounds good, is a joy to play, and it doesn't break the bank. Highly recommended!
