Harley Benton CST-24T P90 Ocean Flame Reviews
CST-24T P90
The guitar came in a cardboard box. Really well done, sturdy and safe.
Upon unboxing the guitar i was amazed at how beautiful it is. I've seen the videos regarding Harley Benton guitars and i thoroughly inspect the guitar. I found no fault. Literally, the bindings the frets, the headstock, the body, knobs and electronics, everything is just so well made. What surprised me was the fact that the strings looked brand new and not as if they were there for like months.
Intonation was on point with the exception of 2 strings not being perfectly intonated. Instantly played out of the box and the guitar was really well set up. Action was were it was supposed to be.
The sound is what i expected from a P90 pickup, and the pickups' volume is normal.
All in all, a near perfect instrument for my standards at least. Would definitely buy another one.
It grows on you...
When I first inspected the guitar I wasn't all that impressed. The fret board at the neck pick up was untidy, there was visible glue and the very end was chipped. I just shrugged and said "oh well, what did I expect for this price".
However, as I've started to play this and get used to the feel of it I'm really starting to connect with it and the P90s are just my favourite sound in the world right now.
Aesthetically, overall this is a beautiful looking instrument and I do check it every time I walk past. From 10 feet you'd never know this was a cheap guitar and it really plays like much more expensive ones. Maybe I got lucky, but I'm very happy I bought this and it's rapidly becoming one of my favourite guitars.
WOW! Great Guitar, Great Price!
I had been researching and watching reviews on this brand and these guitars very closely over the last several months, and I'm blown away! At this price I expected a few little defects, however after having this guitar for a week I've yet to find anything that I would consider defective. Right out of the box it was set up great, almost totally in tune, and to my amazement the intonation was near perfect.
You would be hard - pressed to pick any "Name Brand" guitar at the $800 - $1200 price range off the rack and be as happy as I've been.
It looks great, feels great, and the Roswell P90's are incredible! I've already had it in the studio and all I can say is that this guitar is turning heads!
It was here in less than a week, which also surprised me. The only thing, and to me it's not really even a big deal, is that the arm for the tremolo system doesn't seem to fit and there was no rubber grip on the end. For the guitar I got, at this price, all I can say is WOW!!!
AMAZING
amazing feel and sound..i have bought locking tuners with it, but these will go on my PRS SE , as the CST doens t need them but the PRS does...Perfect finnish,, i have been playing is, out og th box for a month now,, no flaws
WOW
Gotta say I am totally impressed with this guitar for the price! I own over 20 guitars in all price ranges with a proper setup this thing plays great! The pickups are a little dark sounding... But you can remedy that
Amazing price-quality relation
The finish is outstanding, once you open the box you fall in love with the guitar, the sound of the p90's is great, the only 2 details I noticed are the frets a little bit sharp at the edges but not a big problem, and the tuners, but you can understand that for the price, other than that the guitar is amazing. Definitely I will buy more Harley Benton guitars.
I'm laughing at PR$
I received my CST 24-t p-90 and it did not disappoint. After changing strings to 9s, lowering the action, raising the bridge pickup, greasing the nut and saddles it is awesome. Tuners are usable. Needed to slightly intonate 2 strings. The neck did not need to be adjusted. The pickups sound every bit as good as the Gibson p-90s, no squeal and plenty of harmonics. Didn't stay in tune until I restrung. ( There is a way to lock the strings without locking tuners folks. HB pay attention to this) turn tuner hole parallel to the neck, leave only enough slack to wrap twice. The first time over the protruding string, the second time under the protruding string and it will cinch tight on itself. I was about ready to get rid of the nut but with a little Vaseline, it stays in tune almost perfectly. I love the fretboard, The neck is awesome, the guitar is balanced. Oh BTW it was a B STOCK! They got a tiny bit of paint on the side of the neck pickup.
Bang for your Buck
I had seen reviews but was not sure. I finally got the guitar and it was gorgeous. It was lightweight and felt good. The binding and all that was good. It plays really well and i just had to tune it a little.
Good guitar for anyone learning to play or gig with.
Great guitar. I have been waiting 6 or so months for it to be back in stock.
I just received my CST 24T P90. Right out of the box it plays great. There are no buzzes, no issues, the intonation is on. The action could be lowered a bit and it has a few minor cosmetic issues such as where the binding ends, but it sounds great and plays great. Sure it is no (add your name brand) or expensive brand, but it was this or the RevStar and at 1/3 the price, for a living room rocker it is perfect.
So the flame top is nicely book matched. It is beautiful. I just lowered the action a bit and it plays even better. It has nice smooth fret ends.
