Beautiful
Great acoustic for the money
Great for the price
Sold my Martin and bought this HB - This is not as good but close enough for me i saved £1900
Buy one you wont regret it !
Great guitar for beginners who want to record their guitar as well!
I bought this guitar a few months ago and was blown away by how great it sounded and how nice and smooth it played. For the price you definitely can't complain, this is truly one of Harley Bentons best cheap guitars.
The pros are:
- Great sound
- Very comfortable playing
- Easy use of the pickup, the switches ,and the recordings sound good.
- Great tuning stability
- Very, very, very affordable and a great bang for your buck.
Cons:
- The nut broke when I was restringing the guitar.
- The strings break easily if you aren't careful with string sizes and action/tension.
In short: definitely buy if you are a beginner of if you are an experienced player who's not scared to make some adjustments or who's willing to have it set up by a professional.
I hope this review helped!
useful but "cheap"
affordable and really nice looking guitar, but don't expect quality of more expensive guitar.
definitively it requires a decent setup after purchase. frets and fretboard are not good - frets have un-even height, they are very rough and making scratching noise when bending strings, most of the frets are elevated a little bit and have a small gap between fretboard and a fret, fretboard is completely dry... dryness of fretboard might be a reason why frets have gap underneath but it also can be due to poor installation of the frets in the factory. only 4 frets on whole neck were even and in level.
action is high, little bit over 3 mm on 12 fret of 6 string. in order to lower string height, frets needs to be sanded, leveled, re-crowned and polished. unfortunately, it is not quite possible to set fretboard completely straight before leveling, not sure is it because of the neck or maybe only fretboard is not 100% straight.
truss rod screw is very stiff and it is really hard to move it in either direction at all. frets are really small, and after initial leveling and sanding, probably there will be no more thickness available to level them in the future when they wore out.
but after frets leveling and re-crowning, saddle sanding and adjustment of truss rod, action on 12 fret E string is now 2.2 mm without fret buzz through whole neck. not exactly the lowest action, but acceptable for acoustic guitar. maybe it could be set to even lower action.
nut, saddle and string pins are made of cheap plastic, and nut needs some polishing of string slots and lubrication to avoid crackling while tuning. tuners are doing their job and looking good until you take strings off, when it is noticeable that shafts are too loose.
there are few small flaws in guitar finish (binding, paint...), but overall guitar looks really nice, especially in blue burst color. anyway, it is not possible to expect and get perfect finish with binding on the neck and the body of electro-acoustic guitar for 90 €, and for this price that is acceptable. headstock is longer than on other acoustic guitars, which looks interesting.
regarding sound, with new Ernie Earthwood 0.10 gauge it is nothing special, but also it is OK, there is nothing wrong with it, it is not dull. I didn't tried sound through pickup, this electro-acoustic was bought instead of acoustic model only because of cutaway for easier access to upper frets.
in my opinion, with proper setup and work on frets, this guitar is OK for beginner to intermediate player, or to play it occasionally at some party or by the campfire where you don't want to bring expensive guitar. it is a usable guitar, but main advantage is not so much quality as it is affordable price and the fact that it looks really nice :D
fast delivery, good price and quality! Thank you
A simple straightforward acoustic electric strummer.
I needed an acoustic guitar I could plug into my amplifier to make some background music to play over, and this one was nice looking and cheap. So I took a chance and bought one as at this price there wasn't a lot to loose if it turned out to be dire. But as it turned out it was anything but dire! It is very well constructed, and in the high gloss blue colour, looks beautiful. It may not match some of the top names in Acoustics for tone and projection, but for me, or for a first ime guitar it is just fine. Not too hard to play, stays in tune well, and has a very melodic chime when played. All in all I am very pleased with this guitar and it should serve my needs for quite a few years. Another winner from the Harley Benton range!
Amazing guitar for the price
Very impressed. Looks are great. Action is spot on out of the box. Sound is great. Intonation is great. Doesn't feel like a cheap guitar at all.
Cheap and Cheeful Guitar
I bought one of these for my step-daughter as she wanted to learn guitar as well. I was pleasantly surprised by it. So much so that I've just ordered one for myself as well. Great sound and a sweet look for the price range. Highly recommend for beginners or experienced players who are looking for a "knockaround" guitar.
Amazing
I bought a second one as a gift after receive mine. Is just amazing.
