Great guitar!!

I ordered this on a monday and had it by wed. All the way from Germany to New Jersey in no time. Great shipping. As for the guitar it self,it is awesome. All I needed was to tune it up ( I think I would need to be tuned up after thatr trip ) and it was ready to rock. Its alittle lite in the neck but thats not too bad. The pups sound great. No fret buzz or sharp frets. I would highly recommend this to anyone. Real easy to play. Havent put it down since she arrived. Get one Now!

Электрогитара Cherry Harley Benton DC-Custom- It's

Recently acquired this wonderful tool. I want to say that the performance of every detail of this guitar deserves special respect and admiration. Playing it is very comfortable. She performs all the tasks that I set for myself. Technically, I was very pleased. Design at the highest level, in the hands lies ergonomically. As for the sound, I was pleasantly surprised by the high-quality tone settings and a very long sustain. This guitar can serve not only as a tool for an initial acquaintance with the instrument, but also for the performance of already professional tasks. This is because the approach to playing this guitar is truly top notch. I use it at home with the Fender Champion 40 combo amplifier. This is a fantastic combination. And yes. I am very pleased with the purchase. I advise everyone to pay attention to this guitar Cherry Harley Benton DC-Custom.

Excellent guitar for the price

I've had this thing for a couple of months now to make sure I really got to know it. Won't go into great detail about everything, but will say in every category this thing nails it! Fit and finish are flawless. No sharp fret ends, VERY smooth actually. Intonation and neck relief spot on. Great sounding pickups for the money. Superb platform if you're looking to do upgrades, but in my opinion, it's not necessary. Killer guitar for under $200USD.

Plays nice, looks and feels just like my Gibson. My niece can play with it and not worry of her getting scratches in it .

Excellent guitar with unbelievable price

This is one damn good guitar. It is beyond my ability to understand how this low price is even possible. Specs are excellent, mahogany body and neck, Grover machines, Alnico V pickups and chrome hardware, everything is solid on the paper, but also in reality.

Mahogany body with set neck gives long sustain and full sound.

Alnico pickups are responsible for warm and crisp tones, remarkable for the price.

Grover tuners ... what's there to say, precise, easy to handle, stay in tune.

Graphite nut is flawless.

Tune-o-matic bridge and tail piece are in chrome, look solid and durable, holds tune.

I examined whole guitar, could not find one flaw in finish.

Setup was done properly in factory, low action, no fret buzz, nothing to correct.

I compared it to Schecter C6-Plus I also own (60% more expensive), Harley Benton DC Custom sounds better. Playability is about the same, HB is heavier and neck goes down a bit because of that, but I forget about it moment I plug it in my equipment and start playing.

How can it be so cheap? Actually, I don't care, now it's mine :)

Ok for its price

One thing I admire about Harley benton guitars and basses it's their weight. They are really light. In this guitar the neck is smooth and easy to play and the guitar feels good.

2 cons: 1)That's general. In cheap guitar/bass models the metal parts are garbage. So, I insist in changing them immediately.

2) The head is heavy so the guitar balances parallel to the ground (and slightly lower)

Heavy stuff

Pretty much everything about this guitar is heavy. From the not so good to the great:

- It's neck-heavy. Unless you play sitting down (and who would do that with an SG-type axe), you'll have to hold the neck up and push the body down, or else the headstock will dive.

- The whole thing is heavy like hell. It is massive mahogany all right: it weighs as much as my 59's spec'd Les Paul with no weight relief. Okay, the sustain is awesome, but man this guitar requires back muscle!

- The tone is brutally heavy. It punches right through my valves \m/. Amazing pick-ups, Roswell, well done! Crisp, articulate, bombastic, in your face... Competing big brands sell their comparable humbuckers for more than this whole guitar. Quite unbelievable.

What I modded:

- Since the pick-ups are 4-wire, I added a coil tap by replacing the tone pot with a push-pull pot (and the split humbuckers have a pristine chimey single coil sound too);

- I added a treble bleed capacitor to the volume pot to ensure that the tone remains bright even when I roll back to volume;

- as with all Harley Benton tune-o-matics, I replaced the stock bridge with a sturdy, reliable and high precision Gotoh T103B-N;

- and for good measure I levelled, dressed and polished the frets, filed away the two or three sharp ends I spottes, rubbed the fretboard with lemon oil, gave it a fresh action-trussrod-intonation setup, and...

OFF IT ROCKS! If only it were 1kg lighter...

I never liked SG style guitars until I bought this.

Got one a while ago, made in Vietnam (apparently the made in China are slightly different)

Just to keep it short. I pick this guitar more than my PRS.

I truly do, but needed some work.

The fretboard needed some love, drank a lot of lemon oil before show it's best face.

One fret was a bit high, but sorted it easily with a bit of sanding.

That's it.

The tuners are out of this world. Soft as butter and hold tuning forever. The guitar holds as any SG, a bit of neck dive, but corrected a bit with the strap button position.

Looks good, plays really good, and sounded good with the Humbuckers (now sounds even better with two P90 ;) )

Seriously, I never liked the look of SGs, now this is one of my favourite guitars, over some of 10 times the price another ones.

Killer guitar

Never owned or played a SG style guitar before but this guitar by its own rights is fantastic. It has great sounds, I have not had to change anything on this. I live in Australia, I was a bit worried it being sent from Europe, packing was great no damage to the instrument. Profile on the neck was a lot slimmer than what I was use to, but I love it. Could not find any cosmetic defects with it. The pick ups are actually not to bad (I may change them in the future) and I have played this through several different brands and types of amps. For the price and quality you can't go wrong (unless you are a gear snob).

Incredible guitar for the price.

The guitar, although it is a bit neck heavy, is very lightweigh.

It plays incredibly smooth with really low action, and sustains like crazy.

The Rosswell HB's pack a real hard-rocking punch and the tuners stay in place for days.

Definetly a worthy investment.

Not sure I liked it.

So I received my DC Custom Via USPS yesterday, the finish is flawless, although the nut looks very hokey (looks like someone sanded the top down level with the strings. After quick intonation check and raise the pickups played it for a while, had to tune a few times. It play way better than any high end Epiphone and the pickups sound good.

Update picked it up a day later perfectly in tune, hammered on it for a couple of hours and only had to tune once.

Matt from the United States.

It's an okay guitar..

This guitar cost me around $200 (USD) and I received a $200 guitar.

There is nothing particularly special about it, nor anything wrong with it. The finish is well done, the neck profile is nice, the pick-ups sound decent, and the initial set-up was acceptable. The roseacer fretboard feels a little strange to me (I cannot explain exactly why). Overall, the guitar seems well constructed but doesn't feel like a high-quality instrument.

The bottom-line is this: if you are considering this guitar because you believe it to be a $1000 guitar, you will be disappointed. If you understand that this is an above average entry-level guitar, then you will be happy.

This guitar should cost at least £500!

Quite simply a fantastic guitar. An Epiphone Sg400 costs double the price of one of these and is not even close in terms of quality. This DC Custom is a superb SG style instrument with warm, bell-like clean tones and lovely crunchy classic rock & blues tones. Hi Gain sounds are also very good (in a classic rock/metal kind of a way)... you find yourself grinding out Black Sabbath & ACDC riffs with a big grin on your face.

Set up was lovely... low action, well cut nut, excellent fret work, perfect intonation, no fret buzz or choking. A very well sorted, attractive, great sounding, classy guitar. Just get one!
