Ridiculously cheap, yet playable enough

At the point of ordering, this guitar cost me € 89 in total, including shipping. It's ridiculously cheap for a guitar.

The good:

- honestly it looks great

- sounds good

- plays reasonable well

The meh:

- strings are as bad as you'd expect, but for this price I can't count this as a negative

The bad:

- action is high, need to alter the bridge a bit to get it lower

Overall it's a perfect campfire guitar.

Great Beach Guitar, but beginners be careful.

For the price, it's a great guitar. It sounds much better than I expected, it's just a bit smaller than my dreadnought which makes it easy to haul around, and it is very beautiful.

I am not a beginner, I have 5 guitars. This one looks almost exactly like my Tanglewood guitar, but I wanted a cheap one to take to the beach and country side. The guitar came with some aesthetic imperfections and the action is a bit high for me. Actually, I had to put extra light strings on it to make it playable. For that reason I think that a beginner will need to get this set up or put light strings on it.

Amazing performance for the price

Ordered this model since I wanted a light and bright guitar. One of my favorite guitars to play, period.

Pros:

* Really lightweight, can stand for hours with this around my neck

* Beautiful finish, good looking headstock. Surprisingly ornate, while still with a minimalistic design

* Sounds great out of the box, even the strings seemed pretty fresh for a factory set. No setup was needed specifically, although the frets seemed slightly rough at first, but this went away after a few days of playing

* The sound is clear, bright, almost surprisingly loud. Bass is clearly heard but not overwhelming

Cons:

* The wooden bridge arrived slightly cracked. To be honest, I considered sending the guitar back for replacement, as this seemed like a potential weak point in the structure - the crack touches the saddle. However, I didn't want to go through the trouble of packing and shipping for a cheap guitar that I picked up for 89 eur. So the crack is still there and the guitar has not broken still, so I'm assuming it's only a visual issue, as it has not affected the performance in any way.

In conclusion, a fantastic guitar. I highly recommend it for beginners or for seasoned players who need a lightweight instrument that doesn't need special care and will sound pretty good in any situation.

Very good acoustic for a few bucks

I must admit that i was pleasantly surprised with acoustic so cheap, yet it has everything you need for guitar to go. Give it a chance you will not regret it.

good entry level steel string

first up: just be mindful that it's an entry-level steel string, and sounds like one. this was exactly what I was looking for though, so I'm happy. nice and light, has some nob-thingies so you add a strap, and the hardware feels solid. it's taken a couple of knocks which didn't leave any permanent (or noticeable) marks or drop out of tune, so it's probably a good guitar to travel with.

Nice guitar overall, with some issues

As soon as I opened the box, realized the dark colour was actually really nice, and the little abalone ring really popped nicely. Visually the guitar is really nice if you like the darker vintage look.

It also sounds great, but I had some fret buzzing that didnt go away with truss rod adjustment, so I had to take away a star for that.

I also had some cracking on the dry fretboard and similar wood issues on the bridge, so I rate the build quality low for now. I've ordered another one and hope that it comes without these issues.

Overall a really nice guitar, shame that it has issues!

Great for leaving out and picking up around the house

I ordered this guitar to leave on a stand in my living room to just pick up and play more often. It's great and for the money I really cannot complain. Sounds full and rich. The finish has a few small blemishes but they do not bother me at all. Overall a very good guitar for the price. It was my first Harley Benton guitar and it will not be my last.

Great guitar for the price

I am a beginner guitar player and wonted a cheap guitar to learn on and to drag around with me without the worry that I will damage an expensive instrument. I like the look of the guitar, action was also quite good out of the box and the guitar needed minimal adjustments and action setting. The guitar stays in tune and overall I can say that the guitar is beautiful and exactly what I wanted at this time for a really low price. I think my next guitar will also be a Harley Benton for sure.

I learned a lesson - don't buy the <$100 guitars

Neck is mishaped and adjustment doesn't provide relief. I've allowed the guitar to get acclimated but no joy with the problems. Frets are not installed at same height and buzz is ever present on 4th and 5th frets as well as 13 and 14. The first fret is so low that the high e string is usually muted at that fret. I have to leave the action very high for there to be no buzz which really reduces playability. Frets are jagged at ends. I have discovered that under $100 guitars from HB are not very good (or at least the two I bought). I actually love most of the products I've purchased. The simple solution is ignore sub $100 dollar guitars and spend a little more if you want one that's playable. I want to like it, I just can't. I hate to throw away an instrument so I leave it hanging on my wall but it's not really playable it and I won't even give it to someone else. I wouldn't want them to hate me.
