Single cut kit

I edited it according to my idea in the style of the 60s. If it wasn't painted.....sanding, sanding, sanding. 6 layers of tung oil and red paint and top coat.

The worst "guitar" i ever seen.

Fret board:

-each fret is in different height

-nut is uneven glued, in fact glue is everywhere

Body:

-very ugly glued top to the body near neck slot

-too big neck slot

-chopped wood holes in neck slot

I not recommend to anyone buy this "guitar". More details at my youtube channel in few weeks.

A beautiful guitar

I wanted something that I could customise so I went for the Harley Benton kit. The wood is beautiful and everything about this kit is of the highest quality. It took me 1hr to build it without any specialist tool, you don’t even need to solder the electronics! The tuning heads are a joy to turn and are well machined, the whole guitar feels really good and is finished beautifully. The pickups sound good and overall I am incredibly happy with this guitar. I couldn’t believe how well organised the kit was and how everything fitted perfectly. I will probably add different scratch plates and eventually pickups and a bit of wood stain to personalise the guitar but for now it is great as it is. I thoroughly recommend this guitar to you.

An amazing starting point

I had wanted to attempt putting a guitar together for years and for this price i couldn't resist . Actually plays quite well and has a hood weight. Pick ups arent great but for the price thats expected

Excellent axe

Very nice this if you have the skill and time to build one. I particularly like the weight of this body and the grain is good too so I've not painted mine. The only con would be upgrade the machine heads in my opinion but for the price they are perfectly acceptable. Pickups are awesome to my ears, I think they sound warm and hit the highs well on bridge 10/10 for this kit, add some grover tuners and you will have a really beautiful guitar.

problem adjust truss rod / no instructions

- Overall it delivers what you paid for, but, the neck just go from backbow to almost straight....

Trussrod does now have so much resistance to turn it... I do not want to forceit ... but can't do a little relief.

Can not return the neck because I carved a name at headstock and Gave this as a present.

If I find a new neck I will replace it.

The finish rate it is because the neck

Fun build

I built this with my son and it was fun and ended up a reasonable, functional guitar. It is a bit on the heavy side and he's yet to give it much use. It will possibly be taken apart now to put a unique design on the body before it's used much more. Great value.

Great product

For that money you will get an excellent product for learning guitar luthier stuff. The quality of kit is great, especially if you swap out the electronics to change them to your favorite one (electronics provided with kit are decent as well). Great project stuff.

Fantastic

I bought this to build a guitar for my partner as a birthday present, and she loves it.

I learned a ton about wood finishing, painting, and electronics.

Speaking of electronics-- the pickups are amazing. This guitar sounds better than more expensive guitars that I own (and I'm kind of jealous of my partner now, lol)

The neck pocket is also really well-thought out. Unlike bolt-on necks from Fender or Epiphone that just sort of end with a square block, the neck joint on this is curved to provide easier upper-fret access.

My partner loves this guitar and keeps it within arms reach next to her bed.

I would definitely buy this again. Really impressed.

Good quality but could be improved

The guitar overall was ok , but some annoying issues, like the holes for the back posts being off centre, also the bridge posts needed a "love tap"to fit the wraparound bridge.

The holes for the tuning pegs should have been placed in line, but definately not wider (bass E is closer to the centre than A or D) so now the strings tough each other, easy thing to change in the design, but never done.

It is ok for the price and worth the money. But to someone who is quite OCD towards misalignment it is not the best.

Edit: the quality of the wiring is really sub par, it basically falls apart. Never seen anything like it, I ordered wiring etc for this now.

But really that should improve

Fun project for the family

I bought the Single Cut Kit to build with my nephew .

It was a fun afternoon.

Now the kid has a guitar for himself, and he loves it.

Optimal price/quality

The wood is beautiful, even in the current unfinished state. A fault in the 3-way switch prevents the bridge pickup from working independently, but the neck/bridge mid-switch position works. There is also a dead-spot in the neck potentiometer. Overall, it plays well and sounds awesome. It was fun to assemble with my son, and for the price, I am very happy.

Self build kit

Bought the single cut guitar kit, really pleased with kit, nothing to do to the neck whatsoever as it has a brilliant finish, sprayed the body in clear nitrocellulose & it looks great, never sprayed anything before but following instructions & with the correct lacquer it has produced a lovely finish, obviously not workshop but as I mentioned (first time spraying) & the fact that carried the work out, I only changed the tuners, strings & rod cover but only for my own preference, just a cosmetic thing really. Delivered on time with no damage at all, considering the price of this kit you cannot really go wrong & the main thing is you actually assembled it.
