Harley Benton GPA-100 5-stars Reviews
Sounds excellent!
Bang for the buck!
Built like a tank.
I purchased this some time ago and it's been given some serious workouts between myself and one of the guitarists in my band.
It's built like a tank and seems to be standing up the beatings it is receiving.
Also, it's loud. Really loud and will happily drive a 412 and keep on giving without breaking a sweat. Money well spent.
Little monster
Best Bang for Your Buck
Purchased for my unpowered Kemper Head to run the KPA monitor output to regular cabinet
So far so good
tried with few different cabs at home and rehearsal
The onboard EQ bonus.
Sounds good on low and high volumes.
No much to say, do the job and its affordable

Excellent!!!
Combined with a Mesa Boogie Studio Preamp, nothing more to say...
Compact power amplifier with a punch
A great substitute to Seymour Duncan Power stage. It has massive sound that cut thru the band. I use this with my Headrush MX5.
Small and handy.
Good for loud guitar line out, from my favourite guitar amp. Really fattens up the guitar sound. I got a few m/s delay from an electronics engineer, this also in line kicks out some power into 4 ohms (2 speakers). So small and powerful, always in my gig bag.
Loud as #@&%!
The GPA-100 does exactly what it's inteded to do. It's a power amp, ideal for those that seek to scale down their rig, replacing large amp heads with preamp pedals or guitar processors. I have tried it with both - a series of Mooer micro preamp pedals, as well as a few guitar processors, from budget to mid-range.
The GPA-100 amped them up superbly and powered a Marshall 4x12 like a champion.
The three EQ knobs are sturdy and responsive and offer a nice touch for a quick fix when you've set up your rig in advance, but need a little adjustment - extra handy when playing on a house/borrowed cab, for instance.
Amazing Piece of Kit
The is an amazingly good value piece of kit.
My rig is a Marshall JMP-1, Marshall EL84 20/20 power amp, Zilla 2x12 cab.
For my band practices the stereo power amp and cab are really heavy so I use an Orange 1x12 cab but the power amp has to run in stereo. Enter the GPA-100. It's not much bigger than a large pedal and weighs surprisingly little, importantly it allows me to run in mono.
Obviously it doesn't sound like a valve power amp but it still sounds very good nevertheless, certainly good enough for practice. It will also serve as an excellent backup jut incase the valve power amp fails.
Great Value Power Amp
Wonderful for powering a Multi FX unit or other pre-amp. Solidly made, with wide reaching tone controls for any fine tweaking on stage. Some question the 100w power rating but I found that the input is expecting a fairly high signal level. Hit the input with a healthy signal and you'll achieve the 100w output!
Portable power solution
What's not to like - low price, ultra portable, quiet in operation and easy to use!
Before ordering though, do be aware that this needs some kind of preamp to work effectively, as you will probably be aware.
I'm not getting a particularly high volume out of this, but there are a number of factors that may be affecting this, such as the preamp used and the speaker it is connected to.
Overall, a great budget, portable amp!
Just great!
Using this to power a Harley Benton G212 Vintage and it works really well with no issues at all. The EQ knobs are a really neat feature which a lot of the time helps to get the guitar tone to resonate with the cab well.
Pros: Everything + built-in EQ
Cons: Nothing
Amazing Power Amp
Harley Benton GPA 100 an excellent power amp for an incredible price.
The EQ controls I'm guessing are active because the frequency range is big. The amp is really quiet and provides a very usable sound with a guitar straight in, but it really needs a preamp to lift the volume, I'm using a Tech 21. It doesn't compete with the Seymour Duncan regards power output but has a far better tone. Great for home and studio use. For live gigs would probably struggle for anything larger than a medium sized pub.
It does what it is supposed to at an unprecedented form factor and price!
This thing makes my guitar go louder at a fraction of the cost of a rackmounted power amp. And a fraction of its weight. No, seriously, I just put it in my backpack and I'm all set. Does it sound as good as my butique, tube power amp? I don't care - it seems transparent to me and it doesn't weigh like 20 kg. Absolute gamechanger for touring with a digital FX unit.
Tinitus on a Budget
Was searching for a discreetly-sized, emergency back-up power amp in case my live rig died on the road. It can (and does) happen and can be a gateway to a realm of nightmares.
The price initially made made laugh, but when something is that cheap you really have nothing to lose so I took a gamble. Believe me, I won.
A solid unit with metal chassis, incredibly simple to use, and thankfully NO WALL-WART.
The sound is transparent enough in a serious live situation for no-one, not even you, to notice you're essentially playing by the grace of a glossy, black brick...unless you want to mess with the provided low-mid-treble dials which can certainly add some character. I leave them at 12 and dial on my pre-amp though.
Anyone who says this runs "quiet" is using it wrong, or needs a hearing aid: it easily keeps up with my Mesa Boogie Roadster. Read the instructions.
As it stands, I am considering ditching my over-priced, over-weight valve amps to use this exclusively on the road. I could carry an extra 3 in a tote bag and keep my back, wallet and pride intact when the "real" thing fails.
Beyond impressed. I'm going to buy a couple more eventually.
Power in a box..
Superb in every way.
Quality stuff. I use it for my modellers into Harley Benton G112 cab. Sound really good.
Awesome pedal sized amp for digital preamps
Great and well made lightweight power amp. Plenty of power for life gig, nice and narrow respond. You can not expect to get tonal quality of valve power amp. But with digitals like Kemper of Fractal (using it with AX8) and real cab, you get best of it with as very good portable solution fintting into one pedalboard as complete solution which in my case sounds absolutely beast. Finetuning posilities are also nice. As said, I am very happy with it.
The Best Cheap Power Amp?
I use this to power my HX Stomp into a 1x12 or 2x10 cab for jam nights and rehearsals.
As a power amp it doesn't respond like a tube power amp. Its response is more linear. The Fryette PowerStation in that respect is a far superior product. But, if you're starting out in the modelling world and want a cheap and cheerful power amp, then I can wholeheartedly recommend the GPA-100. The tone controls are effective for fine tuning your tone and it's compact enough to chuck into your gig bag.
Would I buy it over the Seymour Duncan PowerStage? Yes.
Low price, compact size, high quality.
Pros: Compact size for a power amp with IEC 220v socket. 3 tone knobs are very effective and there's plenty of volume for live gigs (I use Hx stomp amp sim).
Cons: not much. Just don't expect a 100w tube amp sound.
Good for players who use pedal preamps/Hx stomp and need an additional power amp to carry around.
