Cool staff for Kemper amp

I bought HB GPA-400 for my Kemper. Good clean sound for home or practice.

Very flat sounding and powerful

I found that this power amp is very great for the money. What I liked the most is that it doesn't add any coloration to your tone but it has the option to dial some presence or resonance if needed, all depending the provided cabinets for your gig. I really like it cuz is very light weight and seems durable and reliable. I'm pretty impressed also on the amount of power it handles and the stereo option. I'm really happy with this purchase and I will recommend it widely.

Great for use with a Kemper

I bought this power amp specifically to use with an unpowered Kemper rack and it works perfectly. The Harley Benton has more than enough power and juice to run the Kemper to any cab. Great amp!!

A Genuine surprise

Check my quick review at : a bit more in depth though :

This is an epic amp and especially for the money , its built like a tank and has a reasonable tone although not as bright or punchy as its obvious competitors , as far as what this is up against the Rocktron Velocity series is obviously the number one and having owned both now I can see why , although this has plastic knobs and lacks the finesse construction wise of the rocktron it does a reasonable job trying to emulate the capabilities having almost identical specs .

the one place where this doesn't compare is in the actually tonality if the amp itself , it has the high and low shape controls but it lacks a certain brightness and full bottom end that the rocktron shines at , although the big problem here is that after years of use this has survived and after 6 replacements the Rocktron just broke down consistently.

In conclusion after road testing both units I have to say that this is more than worth the money and with some tweaking I got a crushing sound from it , so if your using in particular a preamp processor of the likes of the Kemper/AxeFx/Helix then this is a great value and easy to use unit that is small but does get hot so leave some breathing space lol , grab a bargain .

Can't go wrong with it.

So this is a solid state guitar power amp. If you don't know what is it for then you probably don't need one:)

I love everything about this gear. The raw power, the flexibility when matching the impedance, stereo/mono and bridged options, low and high end controls (resonance and presence).

The GPA-400 can be paired with virtualy any guitar preamp/amp sim on the market. You can even pair it with distortion pedal like boss metal zone/behringer ultra metal and still get a "decent" metal rhythm tone(resonance and presence controls will help you to shape your tone a lot).

Great power amp which packs a punch!

I bought this as my 15W valve head wasn't loud enough in a full band situation. I use it to boost the volume considerably and be heard in any situation.

The unit feels nice and solid, with incredibly reactive tone shaping controls on the front. I've not used it in stereo, just bridge mono, but it's loud loud LOUD!

I've used it in cramped practice rooms, and on stage, either with a valve pre-amp or a valve head with an internal load through a few different 2x12 and 4x12 cabs and it's fantastic!

It's nice and compact and even stays cool. The noise floor is very low, and despite the instruction manual warning against possible EMI, I've found that even with a valve pre-amp directly on top of the unit, it doesn't cause any extraneous noise.

I'd suggest this as a go to product for either making a valve amp (making sure it's safely loaded and attenuated if necessary) louder, or for amplifying a modelling set up. It really packs a whollop!

Not to mention the price compared to other alternatives... Superb value for money!

Lightweight and good

It has been stable since I bought it (1,5 year). I replaced a Marshall 20/20 with this unit. Use this in a babyrig: GSP1101+GPA in a 2u shallow rack. A dream to move around.Use it for rehearsals and stage volume (using DI from the GSP with IRs live).

Pro:

Price.

Weight.

Dosen't get warm (don't need space over it).

Enough power for 4x12.

Some tonal shaping.

Con:

A little lifeless.

Just dosen't sound as good as the 20/20.

High quality amp for use with Kemper, POD etc

Very clean and loud sound from the amp. Has a multitude of output options and will work with most speaker cabinet configurations.

I was pleasantly surprised how good this unit is for the price. I use this amplifier in my live setup both with my Pod HD and Kemper and it's saved a ton of money not having to upgrade my Kemper to the power amp edition. Also, it's more flexible too. I can have different kinds of rigs as a bass player in a different band. Complemented with a Thon rack makes it easily portable.

The tonal options are very basic but work well. I am highly satisfied with the amp.

This is all you need

The GPA-400 has all the features you need for almost all the circumstances. It can cover your need when practicing in your room or when you are playing big gigs. I have never played a stadium gig with this power amp to ensure that it is worthy of that cause as well but i play weekly gigs at medium venues and occasionally at small festivals and GPA-400 does the job!

Anything better is way more expensive which in my opinion is not price worthy!

Relief!

Bought this on a whim as other guitar specific power amps are very expensive and can take up lots of room in a rack system. I'm pairing this up with the highly underrated digitech gsp1101 and a stereo 2x12 with greenbacks. The results are jaw dropping, honestly! The GPA-400 provides lovely quiet, effortless clean power and the massive surprise is the built in eq... It's like buying a power amp and getting a free sonic maximiser! The downsides to the unit are the cheesy silver plastic knobs and nasty plastic jacks, otherwise I whole heartedly recommend this great value piece of equipment.

Great value Light and Loud.

Received this today.

1 great sound

2 very quiet / no fan, had it on for 5 hours and it's just warm on top.

3 Loud tried it on full for 30 seconds didn't notice any distortion or loss of quality

4 very light to carry (but I'm used to old guitar amps)

5 it says res and bright controls next to the volume. these are like bass boost and hi treble. I set them both to 12 o'clock.

thinking of buying another.
