Incredible value
Been playing for 20+ years and own a variety of different guitars (fender, squier, epiphone, schecter, Ibanez).
I was keen to get myself a 335 style guitar and based on other reviews decided to go for the HB35 plus.
I must say I’m blown away by the quality, sound and features on this instrument. It’s an absolute joy to play and sounds brilliant. The coil tap functionality in particular is a nice touch, especially at this price point.
Compared to other brands it’s half the price and the quality matches all guitars I’ve bought from new.
In summary, if you’re in the market for a semi hollow this guitar is a no brainer!
Outstanding guitar; great bargain
This guitar punches way above its weight! The price is top notch, the fit & finish is exquisite, the neck is comfortable, the pickups are great. It came well set-up right out of the box. My first semi-hollow body electric and I’m thrilled with it! Highly recommended!
well worth every penny
well worth every penny you could gig with this straight away at the box and it looks expensive and not cheap
Very Good Value, But Flawed
I had seen a couple of reviews of Harley Benton Guitars on YouTube.com and decided to purchase this HB35Plus, a 335 style guitar. I imspected the guitar upon arrival to my residence. My first impression was that it was a very attractive guitar with its nicely figured top, bound body, f-holes and neck. Upon further inspection & playing, I found several flaws: the fret ends were very rough and required a polish job. The control cavity was unshielded. The are where the body meets the neck had some sloppy paint. The neck pick-up was muddy sounding, even with the treble turned up. The unit developed some low-end feed back when the guitar was played at moderate volume approximately four feet from the amp. I switched to another amp and got the same result. The tuners were a bit tight, but adjustments resolved that issue. Overall sound of the bridge humbucker was a little "tinny" in clean mode. Out of the box, the intonation was horrible, but after a long time spent on the set-up of the guitar, intonation was achieved. Although the price was right, I probably would not buy the guitar again.
Excellent guitar
These are great value, on par with guitars that cost twice as much. Requires a little setup to get it feeling good, but that's acceptable.
Muddy
The guitar looks great and everything works. The sound is very muddy and I had to buy an equaliser pedal and brighten the EQ on my Zoom multi-effects pedal to get the sound I bought it for that's to say B B King/Chuck Berry/ Beatle's Casino guitars. I kinda wish I hadn't of bothered but it looks the part and, with my additions it will be OK so I'll keep it.
The best value that money can buy
Plays, feels and sounds twice as good as it's price would indicate, far beyond most of it's competitors in price category.
My first Harley Benton, my first love
Absolutely amazing guitar!!
On a product of this price, the finish is excellent. It's not perfect, but it's better than I expected. The overall appearance is smooth and well-buffed to a high gloss like you're holding 500$ guitar.
Only a few small specs in the clear, and the dots on the neck are not centered. But this isn't a major issue for a guitar at this price. When you play it's like you've been sent back to the golden era of rock and roll, a true vintage style guitar.
The total value of the guitar exceeds its purchase price. The numerical rating is 9/10, but the star rating is easily 5/5.
