Harley Benton HB-40B Reviews
Like it a lot
My first bass combo and I'm very satisfied with every aspect. Especially considering the modest price
A great practice amp
This was and still is my favorite practice amp! I still play it almost every day when I'm at home. You don't get a lot of features with it but it boasts an incredible sound quality.
You can also play it through headphones, if you feel like keeping things quiet
Great sound in a small package
Very nice bass combo with impressive sound.
Several adjustment options for the tone, and the sound is deep and clear.
Didn't expect this good sound from an amp in this price level.
The DI out is a great plus, which lets you use the cabinet as a pre amp for the home studio.
I use the amp at home, and this one is more than loud and deep enough for home use.
Highly recommend this for any use where you don't need a lot of punch for keeping up with drums and other loud instruments.
No negative points.
Great base for Bass
Great starting base for the bass tone. Nothing fancy nothing super extra, it just sounds good for very little money.
Bought it as my first bass amp after playing guitar for many years and it does the job, and a good base for sound sculpting pedals later on.
I use it with a P-Bass and it gives a nice hefty punchy tone, especially with the mid-sweep control.
Unbelievable
Like all Harley Benton products, this bass amp works wonders for its value
Great little amp
Got this as part of a a bass guitar bundle. Very happy with the big sound from a little amp. Complete with DI output for recording or linking up to the PA or mixer for larger gigs. 3.5mm input combined with the headphone output allows you to jam along with your favourite music and not bother the neighbours. I was a bit confused that it was supplied with a "kettle lead" for use in the UK, as the power cord is hardwired into the amp, so I had to remove the existing EU plug and replace it myself.
Good simple small amp
For that price it is hard to find a better deal. This provides everything that you need for home rehearsal and also smaller band pracitce. Live gigs it can do to, tested
Excellent starter/practice amp
I bought this amp as part of a bundle. I'm not a bassist, but I needed to be able to record bass lines in my song demos. This little guy does the trick just fine. I've used both the line-out and the miced amp, always with good results.
Paired with the HB 5-string PJ bass, this is a nice little combo.
Wow
I was not expecting something this sturdy for the price I paid.
Broken on arrival
Was broken on arrival. Very weak sound from speaker. Otherwise it seemed like it would be a decent amp for the money. Returned it of course.
Awesome budget bass amp
Does what it should and then some!
The only minor flaw I could detect is that the power saving mode of the amp doesn't work properly when a cable is still connected, the impedance triggers just enough signal to kick it straight into full power mode again.
Great little bass amp
Great little bass amp, ideal for home use and could probably use it for gigging. I use it with a semi acoustic bass at home so havent even got the volume past a quater up, thats plenty loud enough. What more can I say, it's ideal for what I need.
The only gripes I have is that 1 screw wasnt tightened on top, no major issue as i tightened it myself. THe other is that they ssent me a kettle lead seperately but the amp has a fixed power lead with a european plug so I've had to buy an adaptor. I'll cut the plug off when I get a chance and put a UK one on. Apart from that, it's great
Brilliant
Give a great sound, also very easy to control. Great value, great sound!
Holy Crap this is good
This amp exceeded my expectations. The sound on it is more than loud enough for home use, which is where i use mine. The tones are rich and clean, and there is no hissing or other interference sounds. My only complaint, is because i'm in the US, i had to buy a power upscaler to convert my 120v house current to 230v. It also comes with a european style plug so adapters may be needed. I think they should put this information on the site since they ship internationally and some users may run into similar issues. The power upscaler i had to buy to use the amp was almost the same cost as the amp sadly. Still though, the sound and build quality are worth the additional investment to me.
Great amp
Works well...nice and loud
Bargain
Everything you would need in an amplifer and more for a very good price
OK for the money
A cheap, entry level bass amp. Don't expect much, but it does the job. If you are an amateur it will be sufficient. Sounds are ok for the price.
Cost Effective Product
This product is cheaper compared to any amp product. It served the purpose. Sound is nice and this product is for for smart people. This product is not only for practicing but can be used also in gigs.
If you have a nice amp and very expensive amp and you are using a sound fx, probably there is no use of your expensive amp. sound fx can make your cheap amp sounds good to, and sounds like very expensive product.
I'm very happy for this amp as with in the budget. I recommend this product to those having a low budget.
Pretty Good Amp
This is a pretty solid amp. The sound is better than average but not amazing. Then again, it is a solid state and it is cheap so I am not complaining. It does the job well and the fact that it has a DI out is really useful (although it is a bit noisey).
I really like the sound of this amp. It's pretty cheap, but sounds great. super for smaller gigs. I know, that's not a thing, but I hate the weight of it :) I recommend to you to buy this one for your first Bass amp :)
