Harley Benton RX-10 BK Rock Series Reviews
Not sure why everyone loves these HB guitars
They're just not very nice. This one had a crazily fat neck, sharp edge frets, and didn't really stay in tune very well. Looks cool and is cheap, so there's that. Sound is decent.
Its a cheap flying V
Its a flying V and its really cheap..... but sounds good for the price you pay, good weight balance and overall feel. I would swap the pickups out for something else if you are so inclined but apart from that its a good starter flying v if your not sure if the shape is for you.
Great starting guitar
A great guitar for the given price. Sound is surprisingly good and offers quite a lot.
This is my first electric guitar purchase so take my review with a grain of salt.
Pros:
Great sound, extremely cool looking, quality wood, comfortable to hold in a sitting position once you get used to the V-shape.
Cons:
weight of the head/neck proportionate to the body (guitar tends to lose balance unless constantly held in place with your right hand).
I purchased this guitar to mess around by myself and with friends, so if you are also looking for a relatively cheap guitar as your first time purchase, I'd definitely recommend this one.
soooo, lets begin
es war ein testkauf, und ich bin positiv überrascht. Meine erste Epiphon Special SG war qualitativ nicht besser aber 300 Franken teurer. Preis leistung top!
so-so
It was delivered with very decent setup, which I discovered later is probably the best you can get out of this axe. I had smaller issues with pots getting loose very soon, but the bigest remark was for fretwork, which takes solid luthier to remedy. For the price I'd say decent, but it is not enjoyable instrument
Great guitar but..
I would like to point out that this is my first V-shaped guitar. When I bought this guitar I also bought the Harley Benton SC-450 Plus. The SC-450 Plus came first and took a little less than 1 week to arrive (Eastcoast USA). Both of the guitars arrived in port at the same time but yet the RX-10 BK took a little over 2 weeks to arrive from port to my house.
The box used to ship the guitar was badly beaten up. The corner of the body (longest point) had punctured through the manufacturer's box and chipped/cracked the paint and made a small dent in the corner.
Other than slight shipping damage the guitar itself is fantastic.
I took the 9s off and put a set of Ernie Ball Skinny Top Heavy Bottom strings on it. I then tuned, corrected the intonation and adjusted the action.
No fret buzz and No dead spots.
Nice Flying V variant from HB
Good body finishing
Nicely finished frets and fret board.
Nicely balanced in spite of shape, but then you knoe what you're buying if you buy this- it is unorthodox
Good meaty humbuckers
Amazing value for the price
Could be better
This guitar worked flawlessly for one year, but then it started to break.
My rating might be too strict for a 100? guitar, but what ever. This guitar sounds great if you have a good amp. The neck pickup is great for clean sounds and for soloing and the bridge pickup gives a great, powerful sound. The 3-way-switch works perfectly. Strings are a bit too high in my opinion though.
The neck doesn't give a good ability to reach the four last frets. Fretboard and neck are still very good though.
Tuning is really hard with this one. It just doesn't really keep the tune. That's what made the playing really frustrating. The tuners are not good also. The plug is placed really weirdly. If you like to sit while playing it just keeps pressing your thigh.
This guitar is great for beginners, but if you have played for a longer time, don't buy this one.
Awesome cheap range V
Tight sounding guitar and light weight. Tested on ENGL Powerball, this guitar can really scream!! Awesome
