Harley Benton TE-40 TBK Deluxe Series 5-stars Reviews
Great guitar nicely setup may change the pickupps
Clean & Sharp
First HB i've purchased. Won't be my last. Great looking and pretty decent sounding guitar for what you pay. In fact, i've had a couple of other makes that cost 4 to 5 times as much that this HB sounds as good as and plays just as well or better. I would do a live gig with this in place of any of my higher dollar "Professional" guitars. Really fun to play and it looks great just sitting in the stand.
A remarkable guitar
Good sound and intonation. Excellent quality and a beautiful guitar.
Awesome for this price!
TNX for your service! This product is very good for this price.
My recommendations.
Awesome, better than expected.
About me:
Been playing for over 35 years, average at best. Mostly a 70s rockhead, Stones, CCR... I can play anything if you don’t mind it sounding like Chuck Berry….Ha Ha…
I have about 20 guitars (only 1 acoustic..) Some good - USA 72 Deluxe Tele, PRS SE Custom 24 Exotic Top, Ibanez S series, some not so good – the wife has a Hanna Montana Washburn… crazy woman…
I recently bought the HB CST24HB and TE-70 Paisley and loved them so much that I followed up by buying the CST-24T Black Flame and the TE-90QM Trans Red. Now I have just purchased the Harley Benton TE-40 TBK Deluxe Series and the Harley Benton HBO-850NT.
Review of the Harley Benton TE-40 TBK Deluxe Series:
Pros:
This guitar looks amazing.
It has a slim neck that plays fast. The action is low, <1.5mm@ 6th.
Very versatile guitar that handles cleans through to JCM800 very well.
Nice contoured body that fit my 24 pack well. Just a nice fit standing or seated.
Pickups are great.
OKs:
Tuners are just tuners, no big issue.
No coil tap, no big issue.
Cons:
Finger board was a bit dry... no big deal.
Conclusion:
100% recommended.
Should have bought it years ago.
Whoopydo.
Perfect guitar for me good weight and an amazing instrument for the money.
Thanks.
TE-40 TBK Deluxe
Very pleased with the look and feel. Good finishing and the only fixing required is a bit of fret end filing (could have left it the way it was ). Pickups suprised me. Warm fat bottom end and very responsive. I have guitars that cost 5+ times more that do not sound any better. Looking forward to taking this out on stage.
love you guys. guitar is unreal for the price
Amazing
Lots of positives including tuning stability, intonation, straight neck and even frets. Slight buzz while playing acoustically is the only negative I see.
This is one really nice guitar!
This guitar, right out of the box was very nice. Just tuned it up and played very well. It looks good and plays very well. Setup from the factory was all most perfect. Love this guitar and would recommend it to any one! Nice one!
TE-40 TBK Deluxe Great Quality Big Sound For A Small Price
I live in Calgary AB. Canada and came across Harley Benton Guitars on You Tube. I liked the review on Guitar Max. So I ordered one.
I play with some buddies and sometimes we gig occasionally throughout the summer.....just for fun. So with that In mind for this coming up summer I purchased TE-40 TBK Deluxe. I cannot say enough good things about this guitar. The first Thing I did when I received the TE-40 was had it set up. I took It In to my luthier. He Just loved the guitar. He told me it was a good solid guitar and I made a smart purchase. He was impressed I paid so little for It.
I totally agree with him. The neck on the guitar is great. The pick ups sound awesome. The guitar itself looks amazing . Its light weight not hard on the shoulder. The bridge is very good on this guitar. It is better sounding and playing than many high end guitars. Its affordable and reasonably priced. The tuning keys are a little stiff but once locked in they hold fine. Some might want to switch them out for grovers but Im just fine with the way they are . Only thing I would change for sure is the nut . Its plastic and really would be better if it was bone.
So there you have in under 300 words !
This is just a great guitar . I like these Harley Benton guitars so much I just picked out another one and ordered it lol !
Thank You Mr. Benton
Sincerely Yours ,
David Currie
Overall quality and tone are very impressive! Will definitely buy another HB in the future!
I had heard good things about the house brand, Harley Benton and I was not disappointed! It arrived in great condition despite the long travel to the US (was packaged very well). This guitar played great right away. There was not any real adjustments I needed to make. I did not expect the ergonomic body bevels and piping that make this model (TE-40) looks so good! It was a pleasant surprise! You can't go wrong with this one (IMHO)! This would be a great intro guitar to say the least! The clear tones and the beautiful styling would be a huge motivator for any beginner! (worthy of advanced play as well!)
Excellent piece
If you want a cool looking, built great, sounding cool guitar that doesn't require burning your pocket, especially if you are just learning how to play, or perhaps are struggling with finances at the moment - here it is! Beautifully built, stays great in tune for a long time, neck and fretboard built great. If you consider it being sold for such a good price, this guitar is definitely worth it and it's beyond my expectations.
Harley Benton, I love you.
The TE-40 TBK is simply wonderful. It looks fab with the gold hardware on the (just about see-through) black paintwork. The headstock matching the body is fab. The neck is the perfect fit for my hands, and the slightly shiny satin finish is a joy to play. I would say, that if the CITIES thing happens, then a Rosewood fret board would near enough make the guitar damn proud.
Although having twin humbuckers, it twangs as well as it growls, with very listenable tones to compliment the clearness and bite. I have a few HB's now and all I can say is that the guitars are getting better and better considering the sociable prices (please don't go the way of the big boys). This is a gorgeous guitar to rock out on, or lament with. Just received my little Joyo Jackman today, so time to rock.TB
Excellent Value for Money
This isn't going to be an extensive review, just an overview of my early impressions. I bought this guitar because I'd hear a lot about Harley Bentons and I wanted to try one out, and this was cheap enough to take the punt. I hardly put it down since I got it. Sounds great, plays well and looks beautiful. The electronics are fine, the PUPS are a hugely pleasant surprise, the hardware is good and the finish is very difficult to fault.
I am really pleased that I took the chance on buying this guitar, very happy with it and based on its quality I have just ordered a Harley Benton HB35 Plus in Lemon Burst. If that guitar lives up to the standards set by this one, Harley Benton might just have earned a new fan.
Very good for price
Guitar with good design.
Pickups emit a clean, balanced sound.
Light scale and very practical.
Ideal for beginners.
Awesome Guitar
I live in Chicago Suburbs and the guitar was delivered by the US postal serve the box was damaged and the guitar had a small nick in the headstock and needed a set-up, took the guitar to my favorite luthier and had a set up with lower action, this guitar sounds fantastic looks gorgeous and plays as well as any guitar I have and I have 16. The sustain for the wood combination is exceptional. If you like Tele body style and humbuckers this is an awesome find.
Simply Amazing
I love this guitar... look so elegant and classy
How do you do it
What a Beauty, just have to make some minor adjustments and I will be perfect, Thanks.
Great guitar for the price
For the price this is a very good guitar. It does have flaws ,but I am still amazed with what you get for very little money. After some work, it turned out very good.
The good: It is solid feeling guitar and I like the feel of the neck shape. Not too thick. Not too thin. Even unplugged, it is very musical for a solid body. I like the carve in the back for a T Style guitar. Plugged in the pickups sound good, so no reason to swap them.
The not so good but ok:
There is a flaw in the design because the strings rest on the back of the tune-o-matic bridge. The string though holes seem to be too far forward which creates a sharp angle for the strings. You cannot move the saddles back far enough or lower the bridge far enough and still keep intonation and prevent string buzz. Hopefully it does not cause string breakage. I just dealt with it and lowered the action to my liking. The pots are not Alpha or CTS, but seem to work fine so far. The tuners work fine. The gold hardware is pitted a lot, but you cannot see it unless you look close. Mine has paint on the fretboard and I had to work on the frets since some were sharp and dull.
After a good bit of work, I really enjoy playing this guitar.
