Bad intonation

I was very disappointed with this uke. The intonation is exceptionally bad, about 1/4 step sharp on c-string and a bit less on others. Sounds like garbage, no matter how well you tune it. I only use this instrument for finger practice, wearing headphones and listening to something else. I was told by customer service that this is normal and I should fix the problem myself if it bothers me.

It's sad, because I really like the sound of this uke, and I think it's generally very beautiful and made with nice materials and proper strings. But I wouldn't expect this bad quality even with the cheapest 15¤ ukuleles.
