My first choice for an overdrive and booster was actually the joyo maximum overdrive and I have to say that IMO it sounds extremely better than the HB loud and louder although it's much cheaper. I had to return it though because on the joyo, the boost doesn't work as a stand-alone pedal, it can only be engaged when the overdrive is on and that didn't work for me.
So I got this one, it's pretty good, solid built with many features... it's nothing to get super exited about but it does the job pretty well.
