the answer to using valve/tube amps at home.

Great price/value

Using with Marshal dslr20 and happy with that.

It attenuates.

Works fine with getting my origin 20 to good levels for practice but it does take away a lot of thump and bass, which is kind of what it should do but not recommended to improve your tone just get it to a level below annoying the neighborhood! A great tool for practice but it will not come to a gig!

must have

I have several other home made passive L-pad attenuators, this one wins out with working with different OHM speakers and being a little bit sweeter on the high end. At this price it's a must have.

Tames the power like a beast

Use this thing on my peavey 6505 during band practice and it really helps tame the aggression while cranking it. It's a passive attenuator so no power cables necessary. I use the amp at 8 ohms into the PA and then into my cab. Line out and XLR out could really help with studio recording and the fact it can be used as a power soak is super helpful

Absolutely great!

I am using this attenuator with my PRS MT-15, so I can tame it for home usage. It has everything I need, and for that price point it is a steal. The XLR output works great and some cab simulator I can record great sounds. I highly recommend it!

Great value

I already had the Bugera power soak, but this is a much better unit, it does exactly what it is supposed to and gives great sound at the attenuated volume you require, allowing the sound you want from the amp.

Used it to record through as well via the XLR port with no change in volume or loss of sound quality, so I cannot complain about that.

Great product for the price.

Does exactly what I wanted in one knob

I purchased this to use as a loadbox for a client using a Krank Revolution 100 and it worked great! It has an emulated cab out, but I just used the line out and 3rd party impulse responses in Studio One. Killer tone. Very compact and weighs almost nothing.

If you're new to loadboxes and don't wanna break the bank to get your feet wet in hybrid amp setups, I definitely recommend the PA100.

Working as intended

I can play to my heart’s content at night hours without bothering anyone with my Tube Amp. Can’t go wrong without it.

Very descent attenuator

Very good build , versatile (4,8&16 ohms). You can't get anything better for that price range.

HB do it again

As a first purchase of an attenuator I just wanted something that will let me get taste of whether or not it something I’d use and would find useful. Well this blew me away, while it may not have quite quality of a reactive load box / attenuator that’s ok given the cost of this against something like the tone king iron man. Great first attenuator.

Value

Great value and keeps your amp quiet. Can give off some heat, so put something for it to sit on if your leaving it sitting on your amp

Very good attenuator

So if you want a simple device to reduce the output of your favourite cranked tube amp, you can not go wrong with this. It even has a Cab sim XLR out and line out. The cab sim is not the best in the world, but i guess you will use your own Impulse response in the DAW anyways.

At lowest volumes it does affect the tone, but this will be the case with ALL attenuators. So no worries, this one is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Good resistive attenuator for a good price.

Good resistive attenuator for a good price. I guess reactive load is a better representation of a speaker load but prices for those are 5-10 times greater. If you want to play a tube amp at 11, at home for a reasonable price, this is the attenuator for you.

Fantastic for recording

Like the majority of people who buy this, I wanted a way to record my amp silently. I didn't want to pay over 200 euros for a "reactive" load which isn't really reactive (to get reactive you have to pay a lot more than 200, the closest popular "reactive" competing product is actually not properly reactive but uses it more as a marketing tool). It turns out this HB attenuator does a fantastic job at providing a clear line out signal. Running a Laney Ironheart at 60 watts at high volume, the attenuator doesn't seem to heat up at all. It's completely silent. Also, the actual attenuation (which for most people is just a side bonus feature) is great! Now I can have my master volume cranked up, my channel volumes cranked up, and the overall speaker output down at 0.5/10. I was afraid this might change the tone too much, i.e. remove a lot of high end, but no, it is minimal - it sounds a LOT better than just having the master volume turned down. The amp now sings. A great purchase.

Really useful attenuator

I purchased two of these and I love em.

Don’t be afraid to buy this cause it’s cheap.

Sounds good and gets the job done. Had a two notes captur and it didn’t reduce the sound any where near as low as this one. You’ll have to buy the more expensive model of the two notes to get that one…. 460 pounds.

Or the ox at 1000 pounds.

Bargain…. No brainer.

Excellent unit!

Went with this over the Bugera PS1, and do not regret it a bit. In my opinion, the HB unit is just as good if not better, feels better built, has a built in fan, AND is significantly cheaper. if you're looking for an attenuator that doesn't cost much, this is unbeatable. I use it to take a 100w head and it can absolutely take it!

Very useful tool

Used it with my fender Vibrolux custom '68, very good volume for bedroom.

If you want to use de DI and connect into your interface, keep in mind that you have to connect de output of your amp to the PA-100 only (don't connect the output of the PA-100 to the speaker/cabinet), this way the PA-100 acts as dummy load.

Good product

Very good for the job it is doing, will suck some tone, but this is a win and give scenario for tube saturation vs loosing some lows and some highs, some articulation is lost.

This is to be expected from all resistor based Attenuators, this does as good of a job as any of them.

The line out is not to be expected much from, it does give direct line out to your soundcard or ir loader. But the signal adjustment knob on the front does nothing.

In the category of resistor attenuators this one is a banger, will buy again and will recommend.
