Cool little toy

Costs nothing, helps me practice without blowing my neighbors ears off, pretty cool.

Cost nothing, works fine

I am using it when I'd like to practice after 11pm with high quality Bayerdynamics headphones.

With low gain setting I get quite nice tone so Idon't feel any frustration any harsh sounds

Pros:

* cost nothing

* sounds good

* good battery life

* line in (but... see cons)

Cons:

* I don't like the way when line in input is NOT parallel with headphones output. So no matter how you position the unit one cable is always sticking out somehow

* line in sounds strange. I have almost feeling like line in is before CAB sim so output music or beats sounds strange. I also have problem to align volume

Verdict: if you are not planning to use line in often this may be great unit for you

Nice one

Works fine as described, good sound and an additional input to plug in your mobile phone for backing tracks. Overall quality is good, with a small exception of the power button which seems hard to switch.

Good one for beginner

I've bought both Harley Benton rockplugs and VOX Amplug 2 Lead, and this one is my favorite =) The device hasn't clean sound, but its' metal sound is good enough: harder than Classic Rock and more variable with tone than VOX.

It could be the best item if it had effects as VOX. But for its' price I think it's 5 Hetfields of 5.

P.s. my instance has a poorly functioning power button.

Fantastic Plugin Amp

This Amp is ideal for portability.

A long battery life. Great Heavy Gain Tone.

Very Versatile as this plug can connect input to Mp3 and also to other ext. amp/ speaker, if you not want to use headphones.

Well done HB a Fantastc Plugin Amp

Good for practice

it's a good tool to practice power chords and heavy riffs.

Overall it's a good practice tool, power swich is a bit stiff, keep an eye open that you turn it really off.

use a good headphone to improve results

It's cool small amplifier that allows you play and don't disturb other people, cool feature is that you can connect your phone or another device and play along with backing track. Lasts a long time without charging, only the of/on switch is maybe too tiny.

Amazing little headphone amp for the price

I purchased both the Metal and the Classic Rock version of the HB Rockplug, and they compliment each other very well.

This metal version has a good variety of tones. With the gain knob, you can range from crunchy overdrive/fuzz all the way through filthy metal shredding distortion. There are virtually no cleans, but that's not why you buy this! The tone knob does a good job coloring the sound, and the volume keeps you from blowing your ears off.

The aux input makes it easy to connect to your phone/laptop in case you want to play along with a track in the same set of headphones (be aware though, the 1/8" male-to-male cable they provide is laughably short and not usable). The Rockplug comes with a USB cable for charging, which is much easier than always replacing batteries in some other brands' models.

The casing itself is plastic and not super sturdy. The on-off switch on mine is a bit funky and doesn't quite click into place, but for £11 I don't expect it to be perfect.

Absolutely worth the price! Great stuff HB!

Solid sound but not particularly robust

This is a great starting point for amplugs - it has a good high-gain sound, and the USB charging makes it practical.

Unfortunately the USB charging port has become dislodged on mine and I've not gotten it open to fix it. I mainly used it on a desk plugged into a pedal for recording, so it wasn't from particular manhandling or anything either.

As I say, if your expectations are set according to price and don't expect it to last forever, it's a good starting point for trying out a high-gain amp sound before investing in something more solid (and more expensive).
