Harley Benton SC-400 SBK Vintage Series Reviews
Couldn't find better
I've compared many guitars in this price-range before purchase and landed on this one. I loved it's design and how it sounded on samples, and I was not disappointed when I've received it. The only issue I've found that unfortunately it is not grounded/shielded, but you can do it yourself easily when next time changing your strings
Superb Value for Money
This was the cheapest LP shaped guitar I could find for practice and am so pleasantly surprised by the overall quality of it! The matt black finish is beautiful, the fretwork is perfect, intonation spot on, no complaints at all.
We have a few Harley Bentons in the house and they are all excellent value for money.
Great looking but not grounded
Guitar is beautiful but is not grounded properly. Even clean it makes too much noise. I bought the TE-20MN at the same time & it is a lot quieter than this guitar. Maybe something came loose in shipping. Guess I'll have to open it & find out.
Good starterguitar
Out of the box very impressed with the quality. Matte finish looks very nice, no scratches or dings on it. Have ordered a different set of strings with it but haven't had to put those on yet. Seems to stay in tune allright, i tune it every time i practice (which is not as often as i should once or twice a week). Only thing im not a fan of is the faux moher of pearl look on the headstock but otherwise a nice guitar. Set up was also well done
This guitar is so awesome!
I love this guitar! It plays awesome, it has an awesome price too.
Plays really great, the pickups sound so good, great satin finish. seriously it's a great guitar!
Guitar be appropriate for the beginner!!! That's right!!! The sound leaves much to be desired... But this is offset by the build quality and very convenient vulture!!! On this guitar you need to put good pickups, and she will sing his true rich sound!!!
Flabbergasted
After seeing the reviews online/youtube I decided to try the SC-400 out.
I thought it was amazing, and have shown it to 4 other players, ranging from casual to professional level.
None of them believe the price/quality for this guitar. It truly is a stunning value.
Wow
My first Harley Benton and I'm very, very impressed. Have to say the shipping part is a bit unnerving (seemed to be in same shipping status for weeks) but my first time having something shipped overseas to states. Package arrived in nearly flawless condition (yes, the box) and guitar was packed great. Pulled it out and started playing. I've been looking for flaws but haven't found one yet. The quality for the price is unbelievable. Highly recommend
Brothers First Guitar
I bought this for my brother as his first guitar. I've been playing guitar for 12 years now and rock some serious gear. For the price the quality and sound is great. If you're thinking about buying it, do it.
Wanted a Matt LP with Humbuckers......
Perfect right out of the box and for a 100bucks, just shut up and play it.
Love the Matt finish but it needs a little more care, not a single mark or flaw on this guitar, Frettboard needed a little oil, needs a little setup but what can you say for the price, marvelous value, great looks and plays just fine. I have owned much more expensive guitars and fancy names that were far worse................I have several new HB's guitars in my Cart, that should say it all....Do I recommend the HB SC 400................Yes!!
Must say that Cory Mura and Henning from EytschPi42 are great ambassadors for HB.........
great guitar for the price
great guitar for the price, love the mat finish.great guitar to mod.played out of the box. it had high action, so I lowered it and it fine. all in all, really happy with the purchase.
great guitar
the only things that ever bothered me about the guitar are the fact that it doesnt have binding and the fact that the neck was pretty dirty. gave it 3 good scrubs and now it looks and plays like a dream. the initial setup was ok, though its not hard to setup a LP type guitar.
it sounds and feels like a much much more expensive guitar. the original pickups are vintage output and sound really nice and the overall finish of the guitar is amazing. very beautiful and soft to touch!
if it ever got broken or stolen i would for sure buy an HB again, though not sure if this one because of my binding problem (the guitar looks so nice and expensive the inlays are really pretty and then theres no binding. but overall it looks like a studio version)
Excellent
Great guitar, super fast shipping to Canada!
You cannot have one of these
As a guitarist in an active gigging band, I was pushed into buying this as a Christmas present by my family. My first guitar is a Yamaha SG2000, second is a customised J5 Squier Telecaster which I gig and third choice was a USA Gibson Les Paul Studio which was a huge disappointment.
The Harley Benton arrived and I can't believe how good a guitar it is for the £85 it cost. The weight and build quality is excellent, and the only thing I don't like are the 10's strings which I will replace. It plays far better than the Gibson, which is now up for Sale, and it feels that good, I will gig it next year.
I wasn't sure about the Matt finish when I ordered it, but it looks fantastic.
I think these Guitars are worth checking out if you don't have a huge budget
