Guitar that exceeded the highest expectations!

I hesitated to buy Les Paul for a long time. And when, finally, he decided to buy, he did not think about possible options for long - Harley Benton has recently created a great reputation for himself! I don't need a big brand name on the headstock of my guitar, I needed exactly the same sound, Les Paul sound! And I got it for a little money. I also got a beautiful guitar appearance! Roswell pickups were also very good and do not require replacement with expensive brands. Only plastic nut and vintage tuners require replacement. I replaced them with Graphtech Nubone and locking machine head set. Now I can enjoy playing a beautiful and perfectly sounding guitar!

Almost perfect!

A lot of reviews said that this is a perfect guitar for its price, and they didn`t lie at most parts. It sounds very good, visual appearance is also good, but screw holes(if you want to remove pickguard, as i did) and outer bounds of the head dont painted very well, but its very hard to notice, so it still very good.

Very Good Value For Money

The fret ends, binding, and fingerboard are all top quality and this is very unusual for a guitar in this price range and even double the price. The fingerboard wood is quite dark for Pau Ferro wood and looks better than most rosewood these days. The frets are a little bit scratchy to start with, but they polish up quickly by playing the guitar and bending the strings a lot. The nut slots are cut perfectly, again this is something normally only seen on much more expensive guitars. The cherry to yellow sunburst body finish is really well done and the cream binding on the top edge of the body has been finished very well. Although the maple veneer on the face of the guitar body does not have a really deep flame figuring it is just enough to make the guitar look very expensive. The hardware (tuning pegs, bridge and tailpiece) all seem to be quite good quality, and the pickups are very good for a guitar of this price with the added feature of being able to switch them to single coil mode by pulling up on the volume knobs. The only thing that has caused any issue is that the pickup toggle switch was poor quality. The hex nut hadn't been tightened and the switch rotated in the hole but, when I gently tightened the nut, the threaded cylindrical section broke off from the remainder of the switch. I have bought a replacement switch of better quality and will solder it in place because I have experience with electronics, whereas most other people would have returned the guitar. Overall I am very happy with my purchase.

This is my first guitar. About 15 years ago I played acoustics, decided to remember my youth and at the same time try electro. I searched the Internet for a long time for what to buy, in the end I chose this one in terms of price – quality ratio. The guitar came to my village for 10 days by UPS service. The guitar looks cool and you want to pick it up and play.

Good bang for buck

The electronics and the finish stack up very well against the more expensive Gibson. The only complaint is about the low quality tuners and plastic knobs/scratch plate. Nevertheless it would still be cheaper if you bought this guitar with offmarket tuners and knobs, than to buy a Gibson.

If you're on the fence, this is your signal.

For the money, this guitar is than worth it. The finish was beautiful, it sounds amazing, and feels great. For 200$ you cannot buy a better guitar. Also shipped and got to Texas within a week. Great work.

Great Guitar

One of the best guitars I have playes that costs under £200, easily better then any Squire or Epiphone and is cheaper too.

Absolutely top guitar!

I am 100% delighted with this guitar! Even better than I thought it would be. PLays like a dream, beautiful looking, feels good and solidly built.

Just everything about it is excellent. Maybe I am very lucky?! I will change the strings in time, but the tuners hold the correct pitch and I hardly ever need to tweak the knobs.

I love the music of Led Zeppelin, and this guitar gets me there.

I am really pleased with the great quality at an affordable price!

Excellent Guitar

For the money this is one of the best guitars I've ever played honestly, it came in tune too, which was impressive, I did take off the pic guard, but that was easy enough too and it still looks great, anyway, super great quality

No cons

Truly amazing!

I finally got my SC-450Plus CB after a long Customs delay at each end, and it was well worth the wait. I've heard a few comments about minor issues with finish and color, but I have to say I can't find anything about the looks of this guitar that is not perfect. The only thing I found wrong was that one of the tone knobs was not put on quite lined up, so I popped it off and replaced it and now it's truly perfect! It looks great, sounds great, and plays great. It's not just a great guitar for the money, it's a great guitar. It would be a great guitar for a touring musician, or really for anybody. The pickups are really hot, the action is like butter, and the fingerboard is nice and smooth, with perfectly rounded fret ends. It really would stack up against an Epiphone.

Amazing Guitar!

I can't say enough good things about this instrument! I loved it from the first note I played! Great tone. I am blown away by the attention to detail in the construction, as well as the fit and finish. I feel like I have a really special addition to my guitar family. This will definitely not be my last HB guitar!

New LP Rep

I have several guitars but wanted to get an SC guitar and after a lot of research decided to purchase this Harley Benton SC after seeing that 99% of people who had purchased this model all said it was perfect. My SC-450 Plus CB is fantastic and it needed a little tuning, one thing i did find the B string tuner was a bit hard to tune but with a bit of patience i got it, the intonation is only a tiny bit out and it also needs a tiny bit of action adjustment to suit me but for a guitar straight out of the box it was perfect and the finish is immaculate, i have had several guitar players look at it and say for the price it is a fantastic bargain.

Exceptional value

I received my SC-450 plus Vintage about a month ago. I looked it over from top to bottom expecting to find something I could maybe complai abouit, but this beauty is flawless. Action was set just the way I like it, intonation was 97% perfect. This guitar plays really easy and sounds fantastic. I am very happy with this purchase and have begun showing other players. I expect they will be looking for a Harley Benton soon. I highly recomment this guitar.

very fine guitar

This model is a good chunck of wood, I've always have favored the heavy ones. Plays slick nice 60's type neck sounds... comes close to my Gibson gold top tribute. Lets us know what kind of profits Gibson & Fender are making. Great guitar

Very nice guitar

Fantastic guitar and no problems encountered,

Very Pleased

Only slight set up changes were needed. Played really well right out of the box, just needed to lower the strings a little. Great sound, but the volume pots could be better. Coil splitters are nice, especially on clean channels. Fit and finish is really nice. Wood looks good, neck is fine, was straight with no issues. Cant say anything bad about this product, other than the volume pot could stand to be changed. Buying another guitar from them today since this one was so good. No complaints, very happy.

Feels far more expensive than it is!

Let me start off by saying I didn't expect a whole lot from a guitar this inexpensive. I was really blown away by what I got! The hype is REAL.

I love the way it feels in the hand. It feels so much more expensive and like a real luxury item. I really can't imagine even a guitar snob having much negative to say about the feel. It is amazing.

The finish on mine was superb as well. The top was matched very well and the burst is perfect - exactly what I was hoping for!

The pickups in MY opinion are pretty ok. I wouln't mind if they were a little brighter but this is just being nit picky and I could probably fix some of it with EQ. The neck pickup in particular is a bit dark. I also don't get as much of a creamy tone from the coil tap as I hoped. Not the end of the world! The bridge sounds pretty good to me - especially with a healthy dose of distortion.

Stop looking at reviews, order the guitar. You won't regret it.

Wonderful!

I'm not a real guitarist, so I can't give you a deep feedback on technical details. the guitar looks very good, even better than in the picture on the site. The sound is very good to me.

The only point that can be improved are the four volume knobs: something better would be appreciated. They feel a bit too "cheap".

Anyway, I'm very satisfied with the purchase.

We'll have a good time together :)
