Great guitar for the money sounds and plays well.
I took a chance.
I've been playing for 40 years and I'm a big fan of many guitar brands. This is my first Harley Benton and I swung for the fences.
Got their top-end model. I unboxed it and was amazed. Unbelievable. Fit and finish are perfect and I would say it's on par with companies like Schecter and LTD. It arrived almost in tune. Neck and frets are flawless. It's a thinner, slicker neck than I was expecting and is satin finished. It's a 25.5" scale and it come strung up with 10's. It feels a bit tense, not tight, but there's more tension than I'm used to. Definitely going to restring with 9's and see how that feels after these strings go dead. It feels great as-is, but I'm used to lighter strings. Pickups sounds incredible and the Floyd is setup beautifully for flutters, dives, all other Floydisms.
I rate the guitar as a 10 out of 10. Very inspiring instrument. Feels so right.
It would be worth twice the price.
Poor Hardware, bad EMG pickups sound
After 5 months using this guitar here is my honest review :
1 - Pickup switcher has an extreme low quality, unfortunately only bridge pickup is working now.
2- Guitar Doesn’t stay in tune at all.
3- specifically my EMG pickups sounds very very poor, even a cheap ceramic pockup sounds much better and hotter.
I didn’t buy a guitar just stay as a decoration, I bought a guitar to use.
I bought a Firefly Elite 3 months ago for $220 and the quality is night and day, very very good quality. (No Floyd rose)
I truly regret my purchase of the Harley Benton SC-Custom Plus EMG FR VBK
this is the perfect guitar
all my life i have been looking for perfection now i have found it !!!! lol
the setup was very good but i wanted different gauge strings on it so the reconfiguration was minimal because it was so close to start.
The Emg's are just mind blowing omg the sound so fat so aggressive but not overpowering i love it.
The neck feels amazing the Floyd is great i just cant fault this guitar.
If you are looking for the perfect metal machine then just shutup and buy this.
buy or die!!!! lol
A lot of guitar for your money
Bought and delivered in very good time. Generally the finish is really good with just one tiny finishing issue that I’m really being uber picky about. I’m in England so I unbolted the nut and let it rest for a couple of days. The balance of the guitar is great standing up and unlike the epi I had recently the body isn’t ridiculously heavy. One volume pot is crap, very scratchy and is extremely disappointing as I use the volume a lot. It’ll probably clean up and the guitar is under £500 but still really poor on HB’s part. I’ll come back to that as I think it may need replacing. The EMGs however are great and have great clarity when the gain is increased. It’s my first time with active pick ups and I like the them. ‘THE NECK’ is lovely. It feels and plays wonderfully. Really impressed. It’s comfortable for my old broken hands!! The Floyd Rose seems to do what it’s meant to and stays in tune. I’ve set the action a tiny bit lower than how it came but is was pretty good from factory and most people who be ok with it. Overall and bloody good guitar which gets it’s first outing live next month. Only crap thing is the volume pot hence the 4 stars.
How do you guys do it?
Have never tried Bentons before. On a bipolar impulse bought 3 different models

I have no words to describe.. I stay in Malaysia.. Had requested someone from the team to sign said guitars.
The guitars are made in Indonesia.. But were sent from Germany.. They came all signed as requested.. The tele and sg came IN TUNE!! (can you imagine that?) they were setup to perfection.. The floyd I preferred a little lower action (but that's just personal taste)
Finish were all tasteful.. No feet buzz.. I mean seriously.. How do you guys do it?
I own about 20 guitars in total..from fenders to gibsons to ibanez to Tokai and of a few corts.. Some of which are 3 times the price of the most expensive Benton I bought..
I'll go as far to say that the only thing you may need to change (in the future) are the pick ups (you need to do that with all guitars anyway) ..
Everything else is solid as an ox. The Bentons are as good.. And in some cases even better then the guitars they are trying to (copy sounds like a bad word.. Maybe the guitars that were inspired by).
I think anyone who is thinking of buying a cort or squire or epiphone or whatever brand that's sub of the original American counterpart should try a benton.. Trust me.. They will shock you.
Don't even get me started on the price.. Like seriously man.. How do you guys do it.
Nothing else to add.. Continue with the great job, production and admin team. You guys rock!
Best Harley Benton guitar!
This guitar sounds sick! I'm glad playing this guitar. It's really cool.
Amazing guitar and great price.
This is an amazing deal for the components you receive. I am amazed at the quality you get for the price and don’t know how Harley Benton constantly can deliver above its price class.
The pickups are amazing. They sound great, loud, clear, and go great with over drive and distortion.
The Floyd rose while being a bit more difficult to dial in I haven’t had to retune since my first setup after receding this guitar and it only took minor fine tuning. The setup I received was great. It only took me 15 minutes of tuning and work to tune and intonate. Granted I had to watch a few YouTube videos about the Floyd Rose before doing so. Since then it’s been solid even with my excessive dive bomb practice.
The tuners are great.
The look is amazing everyone has complimented me on this beautiful guitar and they all think it costs way more than I paid for it.
The neck feels great as do the frets. Smooth and quick and very low action. Super comfortable and easy to play.
This is the first guitar I have bought where any upgrades are going to be minor and only for aesthetics. I love this guitar. It’s my third and the first I truly just feel in love with from first time I played it.
I love this guitar and have been recommending it and Harley Benton as a whole to my friends who also play. The quality you get for what you pay is amazing and shows Harley Benton is going to be a brand other brands will have fierce quality competition from.
Unbelievably Good For This Price
Very well constructed, no complaints. Very resonant guitar. Top quality parts (EMG pickups, Floyd Rose 1000 Series trem). A bit heavy at 9 1/2 pounds, and has just a little bit of neck dive, but it's manageable. A "flatted C" shape neck that gives me something to hang onto, but doesn't get in the way like a baseball bat type of neck.
Pros: Very resonant, great sustain, the pickups have a nice blend of touch sensitivity like a passive pickup along with the compression normally found in active pickups. Sounds great on a clean channel, and crunches like a madman on an overdrive channel. Sounds awesome through many different dirt pedals. Can handle high gain distortion pedals.
Cons: A bit heavy, and a little bit of neck dive. The right guitar strap helps both of these issues.
My fantasy guitar realized
This is the guitar I have been fantasizing about for years. It came perfectly setup for the gauge strings that were on it, but I, being a metal head, quickly took them off, and put on a heavier gauge. I set it back up, and away I went. The only things that "bugs" me, is that the tremolo arm gets loose while usiing it, I need to tighten it all the time, but, that's not Harley Bentons fault. The guitar itself is rock solid. And the other thing is that the volume knobs should have been soldered the other way around. Now the knob closest to your hand, is for the neck pickup, it kinda makes sense, since left knob controls the left pickup, but, when I'm playing, I like to have the bridge pickup knob closest to my hand. That's an easy fix though, just grab a soldering iron and move the cables, or move the whole pots.
It's a bit longer than a regular LP style guitar, around 105 cm, so it wouldn't fit any of the cases I had lying around. So that's one thing to keep in mind.
I would also recommend getting a Floyd Rose intonation key, either Floyd Rose's own, or a third party one. It WILL come in handy when you need to intonate the guitar. I've also gone for the Tremmory stabilizing system, noiseless springs with a heavier tension, and Schaller Sure Claw for easier spring tension adjustment. In time I might upgrade the toneblock too, to try and get some more sustain, it is good, but I think it could be a little bit better. But that's just me.
