Great guitar
Impressed with the quality of the instrument. Was looking for a good value single cut guitar that would not break the bank, and got exactly what I wanted.
Glad I went for the Custom plus, I really like the ergonomics of the belly cut.
Best sound I have
I have several guitars, HB and Fender. This is my favourite. Selector Switch is a bit iffy, but I think this'll work out fine eventually.
Very nice instrument
The build quality and and finish are perfect on my guitar. The setup and playability was perfect out of the box. The action was comfortably low with no bussing and the intonation was perfect as well. The guitar plays so well that I can't put it down some days. My only 2 gripes are: 1. the EMG Hot 70's don't have the bottom end I like for heavy palm muting. 2. The weight balance is off as another reviewer has mentioned. Neither of these gripes changes how much I like this guitar. I can dial in more bottom end with the amp and I've added some weight to the rear cavity cover to help the balance. I don't play standing up very often so it's not that big of an issue. To me this doesn't look, feel, play or sound like a budget guitar.
4.5 out of 5
EMGˇs are good, binding is better than on previous models SC Custom, neck heel is much more comfortable. I was very surprised by the weight of the body it is much lighter than SC Custom but although it is much lighter the guitar is out of balance. Balance is towards the neck which I donˇt like. In my opinion it would be rather heavy but have more stability. If youˇre playing mostly sitting thatˇs not an issue. Played one gig with guitar out of the box and I was satisfied in overall
Very Happy
I am impressed with the guitar overall. I am very happy with the looks, sound, and feel. It plays like a much more expensive guitar. I like it so much I ordered another Harley Benton guitar after having it less then a week. The only negatives are there's a little fret buzz on low E due to the low action setup, and the B string doesn't hold a tune like the other strings. These are minor and easily fixed. Love the guitar overall.
