great for the value

I?ve never played one before, so I?m not maybe a reliable reviewer, but I like it. I had some problems intalling the legs, but it feels solid. Tge tone is god, but again I?m not an expert.

Tuning problems

I had some bad luck since one of my tunning machine had problems. I had to replace both tunning machines with a new ones. Not a big thing but they should do a basic check before. It was pretty obvious that one of the strings (5th) was not able to be tunned. Don't buy the Lap Steel with stands. Only if you want to keep it as a bibelot since it doesn't work well if you need to play the instrument. It shakes to much. Besides that, it's ok for the price you pay.

After changing strings and saddle it sounds okey. Good for learning about the lap steel. I will put a humbucker in it.

Great value!

Just wanted to try these as a third instrument on stage as it had legs.

I was very happy with it and using it since then for live gigs (2 years)

Only I had to change the single coil to hot rail to match my other instruments? volumes.

Well done HB awesome instrument...

Well spent money

I recently decided I wanted to try learn Lap steel and was at a lost as what to buy and where.

Upon seeing this product and the price I decided it seemed excellent to get a flavour of what a lap steel would be like to play.

My investment has not disappointed me! I am super impressed with the instrument. It's light weight, easy to set up and it sounds perfect for what I want, it's pickup gives off no more hum than any single coil would. It's sturdy and a pleasure to learn and play on.

I can only find two cons with the product, one was that the tuning can slip a little but with enough playing around with the set up I was delighted to have it holding it's tuning.

The second was that the tone bar that came with it wasn't the easiest to use and it's shape and weight just didn't suit me but upon a purchase of another one the instrument it's a pleasure to play.

Harley Benton Slider II

Bought this recently as I needed a Lap Steel with legs..!

This is my second one as I sold the first because, yep it didn't have legs..!

Nice sound, fairly robust but legs are a bit rickety so you have to be careful not to be too heavy handed when playing it.

Loud and stays in tune, which is a must. For the money it's kind of a bargain as it's pretty good overall. Nice solid finish & hardware is okay too.

Great product

Overwelming product, great sound with multieffect.

Playing now on it for about one month, stays in tune, no need for constant tuning... would be better with humbucker pickup for some songs, but great for precise and clear sound with single coil...

Overall great instrument if you want much more for your money...

Great shipping, without any scratches or malfunction.

A short review of the Harley Benton Slider II

I am really happy with this instrument so far as I certainly wasn`t expecting it to be so well built for the price!

The paint job was the only thing that seemed a bit rushed in it`s construction, hence 4 stars for quality, but it has stayed in tune since the day it arrived when I first tuned it.I recorded it and it sounds great. No problems with the electrics or anything loose, even the strings seem decent. The stand is stable enough and the tone bar has enough weight.

It does it`s job perfectly and I can see it giving me a lot of pleasure playing it.Well done Harley Benton!

For that money =)

This is not the best slide guitar out there, no doubt about it but for it's cost this is the best one out there =)

You just plug her in big muff or where ever it just sounds awesome.

Specially if plugged into tube amp

This guitar does what it should and does it well

Almost worth the prize

Don't buy this combination, the legs are useless because the wobbling plus one thread bolt was in 5° degree angle. And it had a minor dent when igot it.

The plain "plank" is just ok for a cheap lap steel but to get more of it you must upgrade it / that's what i am about to do.

It is also sold under Artisan, Rosetti, Rogue and/or several other labels from 40+ to 130 ? in the web.

Lap steel guitar excellent value

Very cost effective way to obtain a gig-able lap steel guitar. The guitar is well made for an entry level instrument. The pickup is adequate but can be easily upgraded if necessary. I would recommend to a friend.

Harley Benton Slider II Lap Steel

First of all it is a fine looking instrument and standing on his three legs has verry

professional appearance, looking closer you find verry cheap machine heads and

strings. When I changed first it was normal to restring it with 15" steel set and then octave adjustement- it was almost perfect. Doing this I was thinking about PU, maybe it is also poor one and I would have additional job later, but thanks God, when I coupled the Slider with my amp and use Duntop 928 tone bar I found out

the beautiful sparkling clean sound as it must be if you like David Gilmour in Dark Side of the...For little extra money I have verry fine slide guitar.

Great starter instrument

Having never had a go at slide/steel guitar before, I decided to look into a starter instrument, being inspired by the likes of Steve Howe and David Gilmour. This is a perfect starter instrument and an excellent price. I particularly wanted to get the Slider II with legs so it can sit ready for use. The only issue I have (and I've not marked it down as its not the instruments fault) is that I'm 6'4'' (193cm) and as such, even with the legs at their highest setting, its a little uncomfortable to play standing up. However, a quick trip to B&Q will sort that.

Its easy to get going as you get the guitar, a slide, cable and legs. The soft cases (one for instrument, one for legs) also mean you can store and transport.

Another excellent product, recommended :)
