These are perfect for me as a beginner. I get a good sound without too much effort.

This Forestone Black sounds good with my JodyJazz Metal DV 8* Also it allow me to play well in "very high" notes. Normally I use cane reeds ZZ strength 3.5 and I suggest all to try Forestone Black Bamboo Strength H (Hard). Trying this reed's strength I found a little bit difficult for very low notes, but medium and high register has a good sound. The material and quality of Firestone Black Bamboo Reeds are very good !!

I love these on Tenor & alto but find the sound too bright on soprano & struggle with the tuning going very flat at the top. I still prefer a cane reed for soprano.
