A Great Utility Microphone

I have used this on vocals, snare and tom drums, trumpet, saxophone, and guitar cabinets. It performs admirably! An improvement on the SM57 for a fantastic price. Handling noise is present for vocals, but this can be mitigated with use of a stand and/or shockmount.

Awesome Mic

It does the job I wanted it to do 100% and that was to bring a nice mid range to my guitar tones that the sm57 alone wouldn't do it!

Excellent snare microphone

Used this to record snare. Tried it against the usual sm47 and a sm47 with an oktava mk012 taped to it. First I wasn?t completely convinced, but after experimenting with theplacement, I found a brilliant sound with the mic facing the side of the snare just below the top. Full bodied, but still a lot of attack with a rich nuanced sound. I can definetly recommend this mic! Have seen a couple of youtube videos, where they used it on electric guitars with excellent results as well. Haven?t tried it yet though. As always with Heil products, the build quality is top notch. If you are looking for a mic with the same usefullness as the sm57, but a rounder more warm sound, try this.

PR20UT review

as soon as i bought this product and it arrived i plugged it in for use. it immediately made all of my equipment sound far better than it previously had. i also compared it to microphones such as the Shure sm57 and sm58 and i have to say i would use this over both of those microphones as it had a better mid range, a clearer sound and a better bottom end as the Shure microphones seem to muffle the sound in recordings when compared to this microphone. if you want a microphone that is simple to use which had an excellent from the get go, i would highly recommend buying this product as it ticks all of the boxes and is worth the money.
