The bottom line - it sounds amazing

When I received the Symph EQ I was worried as the packaging was very poor, the package seemed squashed and there was no real protection inside. connecting the eq to my setup on the mix bus, and it's magic. the use of the transformers makes this eq very musical, and being stepped it's very useful on the mix bus. the frequency range is wide and tasteful, and together with the low pass and high pass filters give good versatility from subtle sweetening to a more pronounced changes. quality wise all I can say so far is that really everything just works as expected, Mid side, cut/boost, +0.5db step. this eq has its colour, I use it after my mix bus compressor, and it sounds amazing.

Very good for its purpose

It can be transparent or warm if you want to. Its maximum input level is 22 dBu. So if you send an audio less than its limit you'll get less saturation. The high pass filter has the ability to automatically turn into elliptical response when in M/S mode. This way, the Mid HPF stays at 12dB/oct while the Side HPF switches to 6dB/octave! Perfect for vinyl mastering.

The only negative thing in this EQ is the quality of its switches and buttons, but again, we have to be wise to choose an EQ within this price.
