construction is very well the strings must be changed : the original are no good the bridge is adjusted and the soundpost replaced for a small total cost it is an excellent instrument just add a little good luthier work cost the sound is excellent due to better strings (eudoxa ) I love it the size allows to change from violin to viola without any problem

The sound is pretty good. But the bridge is so easy to be moved. My son who is 8 years old and is the user of this viola. Many time when he takes out the viola from the case and the bridge just moved. The strings are totally out of tone. Spending lots of time to tone and adjust the bridge. Overall, for the price, its a good instrument. Sound is great and bow is good to use. The case is pretty light and beautiful.

A wonderful set: viola, strings, bow, rosin, case. The instrument is made in Romania, has good sound qualities with strings included (tomastik dominant). The bow is a little light for the viola, but this drawback is insignificant. For your money, this is a wonderful kit that is suitable for novice musicians or for playing outdoors. I am very happy with the purchase.

I needed a viola for folk music. When I ordered it I was a little afraid that it will not meet my expectations. I have to say, I'm impressed. I have tried many instruments in this price range and by far this has the best sound and setup. It has a mellow, nice sound which I didn't expect. With a little setup and restringing the viola it has even louder and mellower tone which I find quite impressive. I would even say its tone is similar to many really expensive violas I have tried (1000¤ price range). Although the sound and playability is superb, the instrument has its flaws. The finish has some flaws but I like the colour of it. It's like the inner part of Fender's sunburst coloured guitars. The wood's quality is decent but I believe the fretboard is not made of ebony which is...

Great beginner viola. I will say that the A string broke as soon as I got it in tune, but having replaced all the strings (which I expected to have to do anyhow) this viola sounds warm and round. Considering it's an unflamed body, the color is very nice--doesn't look cheap. It isn't a perfect instrument, but for less than $200 USD it was a real bargain. Oh, and the case isn't top-notch but it's really good for such a low price. Extra padding to prevent the instrument from moving at all and places to put sheet music and my mute, rosin, and shoulder rest. Very pleased with this purchase.

I bought this instrument as I wanted to begin again after two decades I left my professional playing, and I didn't want to spend too much. Not wanting to go over the cheapest solutions, I established a budget around 300/500 Pounds. I was able to test a Yamaha in a real shop, and I wasn't impressed at all, despite it was at the higher end of my budget fork. So I decided to buy this Stentor Conservatoire that was a bit cheaper. I'm not regretting it at all. The instrument is lovely to watch and it has a nice mellow sound. To be honest I decided to replace the original strings, a bit metallic, with a set of Prim Medium immediately. Overall the viola is nice, and it's definitely worth the price, considering you get also a bow and a case (and rosin). Pro: price, nice colour, nice grain of...

2nd time I have a stentor viola but this time it came with some finishing touches that should have been taking care of the fingerboard has a dent at the end, in the case the handles are poorly sewed one of them is falling off. But if you take that out the viola sounds amazing with the strings that came with it but I changed mine two weeks in to have a more warmer sound. Overall I'm happy with the instrument. Also I recommend when you get the viola to get a luthier setup right away.
