This harmonica is well build, and feels solid in the hand - I feel confident taking it out in my bag or pocket to a picnic. It's airtight, the sound is good, the reeds are very responsive, and it's relatively loud - it will hold it's own in a small acoustic ensemble. It's worth noting this is in what other brands call "low D" - so it starts at D3. As such, while the low octave is very responsive, it does require a little bit of air to activate the reeds. You canât play it quietly, and because of that the harmonica loses in subtetly. Not a harmonica for pieces with a lot of subtle dynamics. Also worth noting the note layout is the one that is commonly used in east Asia (sometimes called, in the west, "Asian Tuning"). If you don't know that...

I bought this mainly to play irish trad and songs, and it served me well! Nice sound, good response, and immaculate build quality!

Grampa taught me how to play on this exact type Harmonica, but it got lost during travel. I'm very glad to have found the exact same Harmonica, considering that Grampa is no longer with us, but we keep playing, and it once again sounds great on this Harmonica from Hohner!

A nice sounding and easy to play harmonica, though not as good as the Hohner I bought 40 years ago...and still have. To be honest, I am still not competent but just like making music and would recommend this harmonica.
