I bought this harmonica because I was curious on minor harmonicas. The comb isn't that well crafted, but it might just be that mine wasn't well crafted, it needs a little filing in order not to hurt your lips while playing.

Anyhow, I find the sound of it quite interesting, and, lets be real, it's a natural minor harmonica, so...it allows you to play Summertime and a few blues clichés, and that's about it.

I like it, but I don't love it. Goes well in any collection though.

Simpler is Better

I prefer the Marine Band Classic for blues over the Blues Harp or the Marine Band Deluxe. Although the Deluxe has better build quality and is much easier to maintain, the sound is neither as loud nor as raw.

A natural minor isn't often used in Blues but is very good for Prog Rock and confuses the hell out of metalheads.

Of course, given the make and model, this is exactly what it is. A workhorse harmonica that will do as it is told.

Loud. Clear. As with most A harmonicas, you can't overdraw hole 7. So... er... no surprises either.

Hohner Marine Band Classic A Nat Moll

Marine Band Classic comes in small, white, plastic protective case with instructions. It has traditional wooden comb and brazen reed-plates. Cover plates are chromed and perfectly finished. Construction seem to be nailed together. Principle it's OK, but if you have to open it, could be difficult keep it airtight. I had no reason to open it. Marine Band is good instrument out-of-box.

All notes are in tune - and relatively easy to play. Sound is warm and soft.

This musical instrument is sturdy and solidly built. The price is OK for this quality. I can recommend Marine Band Classic for anybody, beginner or experienced harmonica player.
