IK Multimedia is a music technology company founded in Modena, Italy in 1996. The company specializes in the development of music production software and hardware.
IK Multimedia was founded by three Italian entrepreneurs: Giuseppe Carlini, Davide Barbi, and Gianfranco Ceccolini. The company initially focused on the development of music software for the Apple Macintosh platform. In 1998, IK Multimedia released the first version of their flagship product, AmpliTube, a guitar amp and effects modeling software.
Over the years, IK Multimedia has expanded their product range to include a wide variety of music production tools and hardware. In 2004, the company released the iRig, a guitar interface for iOS devices. This was followed by the release of the iRig Stomp, a guitar pedal controller, in 2006.
In recent years, IK Multimedia has continued to develop innovative music production tools and hardware. In 2016, the company released the iRig Pro I/O, a professional audio interface for iOS, Mac, and PC.
Today, IK Multimedia is one of the leading manufacturers of music production tools and hardware. Their products are used by musicians and producers around the world.
