Caution! It's yellow but needs some tweaking
I mainly chose this guitar for the look, I completely gambled on the features and build quality. Probably the dumbest way to choose a guitar but you know !
The reason I give this guitar 3 stars is because this factory setup was terrible, everything needed to be adjusted. The licensed Floyd rose is actually ok it has a legitimate sustain block from floyd rose, but i found it wouldn't come back to neutral pitch, it was impossible to flutter with. However I took the Floyd rose off with slack strings and found the threaded screws that the knife edges sit on were extremely loose, because the inserts were too wide, either that or the screws were machined too thin! You can't win ! But! It's not a major issue as you can simply wrap teflon (PTFE) tape or plumbers tape as it's known around the thread of the screws until they're solid in their inserts when you screw them back in. Also I had to order another tremolo arm as the one it comes with is total bin material, unscrewed itself within a few days of use. Get a push in Floyd rose arm!
Also the Floyd rose bridge needed to be adjusted for height, again using the 2 threaded screws whilst not under tension ofcourse. I can safely say if you get one of these models you more than likely will need to do the same, but now it flutters great. I'm using normal gauge 9s and the 3 spring configuration /l\ . You could probably experiment with the springs a bit more but it works ok like this, there's no need to buy a brass sustain block or alter anything else, just sort the pins out and change the tremolo arm.
The fretboard is great, thin neck very nice to play. There isn't a string retaining bar on the headstock which is a bit annoying I have to say but again, you can drill one in yourself with a couple of screws and it will just sort out any problems with the strings not sitting properly under the locking nuts.
The pink pickup covers are great, pickups sound fine, not so sure about the humbucker at the bridge, I might need to adjust that aswell somehow!
However! Don't be put off, it's quite manageable to sort most of these things out and the guitar does look great - the fretboard plays exceptionally well, I usually use ESP thru neck but I have to say this is very thin and makes fast playing a pleasure.
Nice guitar but you may well need to get your hands busy to bring it to life !
