Larsen Cello Single String D Medium

Medium tension coupled with a Belgian bridge is such a perfect combination for my 7/8 master cello. Larsen was founded on the premise of making the best strings for cello players. When other companies prioritise the violin, from day 1 Larsen has made the cello the focus of the company's offerings.

Jargar Superior Cello String D Medium

I have recently put a set of Jargar Superior strings on my cello. I previously used the Jargar Medium (blue) for the A and D, and Jargar Forte (red) for the G and D. I am finding the Superior have a clearer tone. I often have a problem with a metallic sound on a new C string, but after a short time the Superior played in and is much better. I am very happy with the result.

Larsen Magnacore Cello D Medium 4/4

I now use a set of Magnacore string on my modern cello. This is a really bright-sounding instrument, easily harsh on the top ends. These strings helped valorised the mellowed side of my cello, while still allowing huge dynamic range and flexibility. I would recommend for any type of professional ranged cello, especially the modern-sounding ones. Durability-wise, I would change this string every 4-5 months when played every day at professional level. This is slightly longer than the usual opinion about Larsen strings for cello.

Larsen Cello String D Soloist Medium

Larsen Soloist A and D are really soft and bright strings. You have fun right after you install it to your instrument. The string itself gives you the feeling of freedom and softness. You just find yourself to play really soft, long and deep melodies with lots of joy. I have been using them for more than 20 years and never had doubt to change them.
